Setting out for weekend Zen retreat in a couple of hours. Not sure I will be able to post tomorrow. Debated whether to take and wear my Rakusu (that I patiently sewed myself) this time. I'm not into Zen formalities as much nowadays. But there's something strangely moving in them when you are actually at the retreat and put the rakusu on in the morning, chanting the Robe Verses:
Great robe of liberation,
Field far beyond form and emptiness,
Wearing the Tathagatha's teaching,
Saving all beings.
Resting in a space of healing, which seems to mean protecting and letting grow. Attentive brooding. Sometimes wearing the robe of empty formality, arising like pavilion mist. Dots of form, dots of space.
Great robe of liberation,
Field far beyond form and emptiness,
Wearing the Tathagatha's teaching,
Saving all beings.

Quiet morning practice, continuing to explore time, or better: just watch time.
