"All frustration and grieving stem from the erroneous perception of separation, as if a flower could be separate from the plant, from the earth, from the air and the sunlight.
When we take a few seconds to look around us without thought, we can see and feel ourselves as the Oneness with everything around us."
Fascinating question, Stevenaia, about the relative merits of "life as a whole as practice", life as a lab, versus specific practices, whether meditation in a seated way, or standing chi gong or tai chi, or laying down motionless when waking up in the middle of the night, etc. If it were not for the fact that I constantly forget to line up with the universe, I would feel no need for meditation. But since I realize I have to continuously remind myself (something that the 9 sec was designed to assist in), meditation can be such a reminder, by turning down the background music a few notches, so to speak. edited 01:28, 21 Mar 2012
