As a water dragon myself, in the year of the dragon, I appreciated Eos' comment. :-)
And yes, Zen and Eliza, using a provisional `higher' view to escape from the tacit every-day view of mine and dine, like fighting hot with hot, drinking hot tea on a hot day . . . knowing that ultimately we'll have to drop all views.
But dropping has to be natural, like the dropping of ripe fruit, not tearing off . . .
In my morning practice I tried to see how time presents all that appears in time, and I tried to see to what extent I could naturally invite all appearances to dissolve back into time, like waves rising out of the sea and sinking back into the sea. edited 22:17, 22 Feb 2012

'Not holding to fixed views' it instructs in the Metta Sutta. Imagining myself walking through a garden with trees laden with ideas about life and stopping to sample some. Tempted to stay at one I particularly like, really nice ideas. And I want to tell others of my discovery. But they have found other trees they prefer and are sure my tree has an inferior variety. But they might be right.... I should try another tree every now and then.

Enjoy the fruit tree grove imagery, feeling of resourcefulness and right timings and contexts. :) There are seasons in which I've felt an indescribable loss of place and nothing feels to make sense, not by a forcible dropping but a highly inconvenient one... like rehearsing and rehearsing and one's lines disappearing when they are most expected and seemingly really needed. I'm learning to lean into the blindspot ... a chance to allow a unique resourcefulness to kick in with some confounding of previous visions.

    Quite an intense grove here!

Pleased to be attending, appearances of each day dissolving, new trees enriching, unrehearsed resourcefulness dawning.
