Eos Amaterasu: I don't think anyone else from the retreat will be here

Wol Euler: in their defence, we were all up at 5am to listen to the dawn chorus

SophiaSharon Larnia: Oh that sounds like so much fun

Eos Amaterasu: which I (tried to) record - we'll see how well that went

Wol Euler: it was quite a lovely morning

Wol Euler: I'd expected a few more birds, to be honest, it was a little sparse

SophiaSharon Larnia: i like how it starts, a peep, an answering peeps, and commencement of morning stirring and activity

Eos Amaterasu: Yes, not quite the parliament of the birds anticipated - but we were told that it wouldn't be as active as in springtime

Eos Amaterasu: I think going really well - end of the second day, and feels like a week already

Eos Amaterasu: The introductions to the forest given by Jim Drescher, owner of the place, have been quite wonderful

SophiaSharon Larnia: didnt lose anyone yet? :)

Eos Amaterasu: We started with a forest walk Monday morning

Wol Euler: yes, that's true, that was wonderful

Eos Amaterasu: (almost lost Eliza then :-)

Bleu Oleander: sounds lovely

Eos Amaterasu: Last night some of us went on a "night walk"

Bleu Oleander: the walk that is, not losing Eliza :)

stevenaia Michinaga: yes, complete darkness is like a blanket outside

Eos Amaterasu: And the "Dawn Chorus" was the third intro to the forest and avian fauna

Eos Amaterasu: (I seem to be highly Latin tonight :-)

SophiaSharon Larnia: how wonderful, without occlusion of artificial light

Bleu Oleander: sheer appearance in the dark ..... sounds amazing

SophiaSharon Larnia: the first thing that comes to mind is more sensory in other ways, with the lack of light

Eos Amaterasu: I think in general the retreat is getting rave reviews

Eos Amaterasu: veggie, but with careful attention to protein and balance and taste and presentation

Eos Amaterasu: a very sweet couple preparing the food: "conscious catering"

Wol Euler: yes, a pair of lovely kids

Eos Amaterasu: sorry, I tromped thru the 90 secs - a little tired

Wol Euler: we've been talking about the is-ness of what is

Wol Euler: and eating blueberries

Wol Euler: there's a lot of interest, both the windhorses and the caterers

Eos Amaterasu: this is the "Avatars in the Forest" retreat

Bleu Oleander: how does time feel in the forest?

Wol Euler: primordial

Wol Euler: and slowness

Wol Euler: it's very moist, there is moss everywhere. The earth is soft and springy underfoot

Bleu Oleander: wildlife?

Wol Euler: rabbit, chipmunks, squirrels, various birds

Wol Euler: and many hungry mosquitoes

Eos Amaterasu: the "dawn chorus" is birds at dawn

Wol Euler: we did a session of Mosquito as Being

Eos Amaterasu: when apparently they are much less territorial

Bleu Oleander: :)

Eos Amaterasu: sharing life blood

SophiaSharon Larnia: peppermint seems to work as a natural repellent

Eos Amaterasu: ah, will drink lots of mint tea

Wol Euler: yes, Jim talked a lot about gratitude and offering

Wol Euler: (Jim = forester / owner / fellow meditator-type)

Eos Amaterasu: he has a kind of being seen, being seeing, approach
