    Log posted by Adams Rubble.

Yakuzza and I met for a bit and were then joined by Eos. Yakuzza told me I could rezz two avatars at the same time with Emerald and so there were three Adamses. When Yakuzza also brought in an alt there was the appearance of six of us although only three of us were there.

Eos talked about the recent retreat in Nova Scotia and told us about the plans for two new exciting retreats.

    Adams Rubble: Hello Yak :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: wb :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i wonder if the session is happening or not
    Adams Rubble: yes
Yakuzza Lethecus: aga left, usually she attends this session
Adams Rubble: some people still are at the pavilion and I guess some are traveling
Yakuzza Lethecus: luci and some other ppl are also regular suspects
Adams Rubble: yes, Agatha said she had to go
Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, my sartre is also parked there
    Adams Rubble: you are Sartre?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: yes of course
Adams Rubble: I did not know that
Yakuzza Lethecus: you didn´t see that yet, but we had a couple of events in the circle where we brought our alts
Yakuzza Lethecus: pema with his ,,no self"
    Adams Rubble: I missed them
    Yakuzza Lethecus: it´s all open
Adams Rubble: I did not read it
Adams Rubble: I would need quite a few computers (giggles)
Yakuzza Lethecus: nah, only a good one
Yakuzza Lethecus: i have a 3 years old computer with 2 screens
Yakuzza Lethecus: and they run 3 emeralds pretty decent
    Yakuzza Lethecus: 2
    Yakuzza Lethecus: not 3
Yakuzza Lethecus: never started 3 instances
Adams Rubble: The software will not let me open two sessions
Yakuzza Lethecus: but should also be possible
    Yakuzza Lethecus: emerald will
Adams Rubble: even if I use Emerald for one and SL for the other
Yakuzza Lethecus: you are on emerald right now so try to start emerald again
    Adams Rubble: OK
Adams Rubble: we could get more people to the session (giggles)
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, i really wonder how many real avatars are in SL
    Adams Dubrovna is Online
Yakuzza Lethecus: since it´s so easy to start multiple instances of SL and to create new residents
Yakuzza Lethecus: there are even textbased clients which theoretically allow you to have nearly unlimited instances on an good computer
Yakuzza Lethecus: still i can´t handle more then 2 clients
Yakuzza Lethecus: to watch and to interact and everyone is already joking about ,,how well my multitasking works" :)
Adams Dubrovna: Did someone summon me?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: welcome adams :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, i have 3 whishes
    Adams Rubble: hehe
Yakuzza Lethecus: but it´s only good if you really use a second screen
Adams Rubble wonders how many Adamses would fit in the hall
Yakuzza Lethecus: so i am often still around cypris or other places in secondlife
Yakuzza Lethecus: ah luci is comming i hope
    Adams Kira: Hello
Yakuzza Lethecus: hehe, never met mr kira :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey eos
    Adams Rubble: Hello Eos
    Adams Dubrovna: Hello Eos
    Adams Kira: Hello Eos
Eos Amaterasu: Hi Adams, Adams, Adams, Yak
Adams Rubble: We are trying to see how many Adamses would fit in the hall
Eos Amaterasu: you could start making molecules out of Adams
Adams Rubble: well, now we have five of us. hehe
Yakuzza Lethecus: i was just talking to adams about alts and that you can start emerald multiple times
Yakuzza Lethecus: for example i use my sartre a lot
Yakuzza Lethecus: as pema got his "no self"
Yakuzza Lethecus: do you have any alts eos ?

Three avatars seemed to be my limit

Adams Rubble: I don't think Emerald will let me have any more
    Eos Amaterasu: No, not yet
Adams Kira: I am not allowed out much
Eos Amaterasu: My name is actually female, so I may check the checkbox and go female at one point
    Adams Rubble: :)
Eos Amaterasu feels pity for Adams Kira
Adams Rubble: my name is not so femine
Adams Kira: It's OK, I get lots of sleep
Eos Amaterasu has spotted some cognitive dissonance

    The Nova Scotia Retreat

Adams Rubble: Sounds like the retreat was a great success Eos
Eos Amaterasu: Perhaps Adams Kira is dreaming all this
    Adams Kira: :)
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, it was - everybody wants to come back next year
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: that's always a good sign
Eos Amaterasu: It was a great fit - the forest, the forest as it spoke thru Jim Drescher (owner of the place), the food, out meetings
    Eos Amaterasu: *our
Eos Amaterasu: although some meetings were out in the forest
Eos Amaterasu got completely lost for two hours during the silent day
Adams Rubble: sounds like a good place for them :)
    Adams Rubble: ohhhh

Yummy Rotting Logs? It took me a while to realize the rotting logs might be yummy to another life form

Eos Amaterasu: "lie down like a rotting log" was one of the favorite quotes from little verses Jim recited
Eos Amaterasu: rotting logs there are really yummy and rich and chaotic and full of life
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble not sure about the yummy part though
Eos Amaterasu: rotting logs in forest are not like rotting things inthe city
Eos Amaterasu: it's total recycling and offering and regeneration in action
    Adams Rubble nods
Eos Amaterasu: ideally our own experiences in the 9 or 90 or 9000 seconds are like that
Eos Amaterasu: rest, and stuff comes up semi-chaotically
    Eos Amaterasu: or settles down
Adams Rubble: hmmm. can we recycle our chaotic thoughts?
Eos Amaterasu: maybe not push them aside, let them settle down
Eos Amaterasu: provide juicy ground of experience -not in an idealized plastic pure realm
Adams Rubble: A picture like a rotting log is an interesting point of focus
Eos Amaterasu: the ground in the forest is very springy
Eos Amaterasu: built of layers of life
Eos Amaterasu: the food was prepared and served by this very sweet young couple
    Eos Amaterasu: "conscious catering"
    Eos Amaterasu: that's their biz
    Adams Rubble: :)

And now, The news from Eos

Eos Amaterasu: I have good news about an upcoming RL retreat
Eos Amaterasu: ta ta daaa! trumpet flourishes!
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Adams Rubble waits to hear
Eos Amaterasu: it will be more than an urban retreat
Eos Amaterasu: as Pema said, a Bourbon retreat
    Eos Amaterasu: Bourbon Street
    Eos Amaterasu: New Orleans!
    Eos Amaterasu: January 2011
    Adams Rubble: :)
Eos Amaterasu: and the organizer is ..... Corvi!
    Adams Rubble: wow
Eos Amaterasu: ka kaaw, ka kaaw!
Adams Rubble: that is is big news!
Adams Kira slips away...computer starting to freeze
Eos Amaterasu: Yes... January 23 -29
    Eos Amaterasu: aak!
Eos Amaterasu: But before that is the Stuttgart retreat, Oct 10 - 16
Adams Rubble: yes, with Wol :)
Eos Amaterasu: Was great to see Wol
Eos Amaterasu: who had visited Winnie the Pooh roots in Winnipeg, Saskatchewan, Canada
Adams Rubble: Winnie the Pooh roots?
Eos Amaterasu: Winnie is named after Winnipeg
    Adams Rubble: ohhhhh
Adams Rubble: I did not know that
Eos Amaterasu: In the forest we saw a beautiful little bridge over a stream, perfect for pooh sticks
Eos Amaterasu: pooh sticks is where you drop a stick into the stream on one side of the bridge, then run over to the other to see the stick floating by
Eos Amaterasu: appreciate the presence of stick
Sartre Placebo: where is adams kira gone ?
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi JP
    Adams Rubble: Hello Sartre
Eos Amaterasu: I mean Sartre Placebo
    Adams Dubrovna: Hello Sartre :)
Sartre Placebo: hi the now only 2 adams :)
Eos Amaterasu wonders if hell is other avatars
Adams Rubble: that sounds like a topic for an exploration Eos (giggles)
    Eos Amaterasu: heh heh
Eos Amaterasu: maybe should tell Wol, who will be doing an SL Identity workshop
Yakuzza Lethecus: i wonder if i should go to the retreat in january, i guess that isn´t a silent retreat right ?
Eos Amaterasu: We usually do have a silent day in each retreat
    Eos Amaterasu: (giggles allowed)
    Eos Amaterasu: (impossible to suppress)
Adams Dubrovna: can you have a silent retreat in an urban retreat?
Yakuzza Lethecus: i mean one totally off the grid
    Adams Dubrovna: silent day
Eos Amaterasu: It's definitely a challenge
    Yakuzza Lethecus: in the nature
Eos Amaterasu: No, N'Orleans won't be "in nature"
Eos Amaterasu: I think urban retreats are more difficult
Eos Amaterasu: the urban life conspires with monkey mind
    Adams Rubble: :)
Eos Amaterasu: and, final retreats announcement
Adams Rubble: Even explorations easier in the forest
    Eos Amaterasu: more trumpet flourishes
Eos Amaterasu: ta ta tha ta taaa...
Adams Rubble waits with bated breath
Eos Amaterasu: Seattle area, September 25 - Oct 1, 2011!
    Eos Amaterasu: Organizer: Maxine!
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: wow cool
    Adams Rubble: Yaaaay
    Yakuzza Lethecus: that´s really interesting
Adams Rubble: Seems to be many people in Seattle areas these days
    Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, luci,cal,maxine
Yakuzza Lethecus: i have a gamingfriend there
Adams Rubble: and some non-guardians too I think
Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, some are directly in vancouver so also not too far away
    Yakuzza Lethecus: interesting
Yakuzza Lethecus: that could be the most interesting date for me next year
Yakuzza Lethecus: since i´ve never been to the states
    Eos Amaterasu: ah, opportunity
Adams Rubble has never been out of the states (hehe)
    Eos Amaterasu: !
Eos Amaterasu: Stuttgart is calling you, Adams
Adams Rubble: except for two short visits to our northern neighbor
Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, you never left the states as an art historian ?
Adams Rubble: before one needed a passport
Eos Amaterasu: Canada almost doesn't count
    Adams Rubble: hehe, no Yak
Adams Rubble: only in my mond
    Adams Rubble: mind
Yakuzza Lethecus: actually i believe even been there physically doesn´t mean that much
Yakuzza Lethecus: you don´t actually have the opportunity to create connections with the ppl in such a short time
Yakuzza Lethecus: and you have to visit 10 places at once propably
Adams Rubble: the number of laces to visit is daunting
    Adams Rubble: places
Yakuzza Lethecus: i like SL for the ability to talk to ppl from all over the world on a constant basis
    Adams Rubble: yes, me too
Eos Amaterasu: and to drop into dropping with people all over the world
Yakuzza Lethecus: there are ppl around here i talk to more often then most of my RL friends
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: It is interesting when it begins to mix
Adams Rubble: conversation in SL often is different than in RL
    Eos Amaterasu listens
    Adams Rubble: can open doors
    Adams Rubble: enriching
Yakuzza Lethecus: in SL i have the opportunity to simply listen more
Yakuzza Lethecus: i can be around a textconversation and make a pizza in the oven
Yakuzza Lethecus: i an be at 2 places at once
    Adams Rubble: hehe
Adams Rubble: I think the two places part would be tough
Yakuzza Lethecus: i can wiki things mentioned directly when they aren´t understood
Yakuzza Lethecus: it depends, in a good converation i can´t really be in 2 palces
Adams Rubble: As Firesign theater said "How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all"
Yakuzza Lethecus: but often there are points in a converstation where i just feel that i have to jump in
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Dubrovna: Maybe it's time to try that. Bye everyone :)
    Eos Amaterasu: bye Adams D
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care adams
Yakuzza Lethecus: will rubble stay ?
    Yakuzza Lethecus whispers: :)
    Adams Rubble: yes
Eos Amaterasu: btw, is anyone posting the log of this session?
Yakuzza Lethecus: being twice in the same place
Adams Rubble: I will take it if you like. I can post it along with the other one
    Eos Amaterasu: thanks, Adams
Eos Amaterasu: Will you be coming to the stuttgart retreat, Yakuzza?
Eos Amaterasu keeps thinking of Yak in his village in the valley....
Yakuzza Lethecus: i think i will
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Eos Amaterasu: great
Yakuzza Lethecus: i didn't even drive anywhere in my 2 weeks vacation right now, so not to use that opportunity would be foolish
Yakuzza Lethecus: ah, i drove to Köln in order to visit pema still that doesn´t count since i wouldn´t even needed vacation for that :P
Adams Rubble: Did Pema go back to Japan?
Eos Amaterasu: Köln seems like a wonderful place, from what Pema said
Eos Amaterasu: Pema is now returning to Japan, yes (probably still in NYC today)
Yakuzza Lethecus: Yeah, cologne is really nice, i stayed at bertram´s place that night and wanted to visit a few museums.
Yakuzza Lethecus: turned out to be a bad plan since they are all closed mondays
Adams Rubble: so many old churches on Koln
    Eos Amaterasu: :-(
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Yakuzza Lethecus: so i just walked through the city on monday and drove home by train in the afternoon
Adams Rubble: sad about the museums
    Yakuzza Lethecus: chocolate museum :)
    Eos Amaterasu: heh heh
Yakuzza Lethecus: actually that´s really more famous then most of the other serious ones :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: like the roman germanic and a few others whom are actually also close to the "Kölner Dom"
Eos Amaterasu looks forward to seeing the "old country" in October
Eos Amaterasu: Well, time to segue from one world to another, bye Yakuzza and Adams R!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care
Adams Rubble: bye Eos, thanks for the news and the reports
Adams Rubble: good to see you this morning too Yak. Thanks for telling me about another Emerald advanatge
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye adams
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care
    Adams Rubble: thanks, you too
