The Guardian for this meeting was Calvino Rabeni. The comments are by Calvino Rabeni.

    Paradise Tennant: hiya cal
    Paradise Tennant: still rezzing
Calvino Rabeni: Good evening Paradise :)
Paradise Tennant: smiles this will take a while
Paradise Tennant: for some reason I am having trouble with sl
    Paradise Tennant: reallly slow rezzing
Paradise Tennant: will take about 10 minutes for the cushions to appear
    Calvino Rabeni: Is that unusual?
    Paradise Tennant: nope
Paradise Tennant: not sure what the problem is
    Paradise Tennant: oh well
Paradise Tennant: how are you doing :)
Calvino Rabeni: I'm doing well, thanks - I just came back from a 5-day retreat and am settling in
Calvino Rabeni: How have you been recently?
Paradise Tennant: very well just planning a trip to italy will leave tues after next :) so a bit excited
Paradise Tennant: how was the retreat :) an adjustment
    Paradise Tennant: coming back
Calvino Rabeni: Wow, where are you going in Italy, for how long? That does sound exciting!
    --BELL--

Paradise Tennant: oh lake garda and venice :) then an overnight in paris then home :)
    Paradise Tennant: all good
    Paradise Tennant: love italy
Paradise Tennant: smiles .. what type of retreat ?
Calvino Rabeni: The retreat was a wilderness retreat - and we built the camp wednesday and took it down today
Paradise Tennant: big smile .. like an outward bound retreat
Calvino Rabeni: Hmmm, what kind ... it has no label - we did nature contemplation, had a native American shaman to run a sweat lodge, and told traditional and personal stories
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Calvino Rabeni: I'm not sure what to call that
    Paradise Tennant: sounds wonderful
Paradise Tennant: maybe just shorten it to wonder :)
Calvino Rabeni: It shows a vision of humanity that is founded in the natural world
    Paradise Tennant: a different view
Calvino Rabeni: We did a short fast, some vision quest things - nothing extreme.
Calvino Rabeni: Nature awareness was a big part of it
Paradise Tennant: what is a vision quest?
Calvino Rabeni: A traditional one was a native american (or maybe other cultures also) walkabout that involved fasting and going into the wilderness to comtemplate life and seek some insights in contemplation
Calvino Rabeni: However, ordinary people can't do this in a weekend
Calvino Rabeni: But there's a bit of the tradition in outward bound
Paradise Tennant: so a commune with nature .. that opens one up to .. insights
Calvino Rabeni: Or other ourdoor activities where someone goes on a solo wilderness walkabout
Paradise Tennant: where there is a break in the routine of distraction
Calvino Rabeni: Many people would not have experienced that much solitude and self-reliance, or being brought into relationship with nature, rather than human society
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, that would be the mind without the usual set of distractions :)
Calvino Rabeni: People might encounter their personal "demons" - that is their shadowed feelings and identity that are usually covered
Calvino Rabeni: And part of the retreat is to examine those kinds of experiences
    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: not just personally, but to be brought to light in the group - to find out how they are truly universal in essence
Paradise Tennant: did you meet any demons
Calvino Rabeni: but it takes great attention from the others present in the group
Calvino Rabeni: Me personally ? :)
    Paradise Tennant: well in general
Paradise Tennant: smiles hiya mitzi gtsy
Calvino Rabeni: It's interesting - when someone else brings an experience, it can be *very* affecting, even if one doesn't feel like it is aligned with one's own persona
    Calvino Rabeni: Hi, mitzi :)
Calvino Rabeni: I mean, the other's story resonates with something one is not currently identifying with, something latent perhaps
Calvino Rabeni: And in a way it becomes a shared dream
Calvino Rabeni: So often one person dreams for all
Calvino Rabeni: How have you been, Mitzi? Long time :)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Hi all, I'm bamboozled, cannot make chat window come up
Paradise Tennant: you are in viewer 2?
Paradise Tennant: found I could not use kept tping myself odd places completely by accident too disconcerting
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Sorry guys, unfortunately I am not able to see what you are saying.
    Paradise Tennant: hmmm
Paradise Tennant: think you can scroll up
    Paradise Tennant: if I recall
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I cannot get chat Window to appear. Only chat BAR
Calvino Rabeni: The triangle to the right of this line opens the chat window
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I don't see a triangle. I see a blue button that says "SAY" it has a triangle.
Calvino Rabeni: Blue - hmm perhaps it looks different on the Mac...
Calvino Rabeni: There maybe IM icons on the lower right
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I saw that there was an IM but I cannot access it. I was able to open your item -
Calvino Rabeni: what happens when yhou click the IM button?
Calvino Rabeni: Is there one? In the lower right?
Calvino Rabeni: Paradise, do you use a Mac?
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I don't see one. I think I should log out, come back in and try again. I've gotten into some "mode"! See yoiu guys again in a few minutes. Thanks for help
Paradise Tennant: no I have an old hp I run sl on
Paradise Tennant: ok see you soon
    Calvino Rabeni: OK
    --BELL--

Paradise Tennant: the trials and tribulations of viewer 2
Calvino Rabeni: I wonder if this will be a future conversational pattern - "Hi, how are you?" / "Oh, I'm in a mode today!"
    Paradise Tennant: lol
    Paradise Tennant: nods
    Paradise Tennant: it could be
Paradise Tennant: would like to hear more of the retreat always fine a trip in the wild leaves me restored :) fully balanced .. did you find that
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, I do find that :)
Calvino Rabeni: It takes some time to "drop down" as I call it.
Paradise Tennant: nods but more restful than any other type of getting away really
Calvino Rabeni: In a certain way - restful - also enlivening and clarifying
Calvino Rabeni: How can it be described - that opening?
Calvino Rabeni: Like having a bigger sub-mind
Paradise Tennant: yes I always feel like I have been dusted out .. refueled so to speak
Paradise Tennant: all the .. silly thoughts gone :) just sunshine and all the nice smells left :)
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, cleansed somehow, maybe more effective in some ways
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Hi all, nothing has changed. I can type in a local chat "Bar and see fleetingly what you say floating above. WHen I click on the Communicate button, it makes a sound and nothing happens. So I am very frustrated
Calvino Rabeni: Sorry to hear it ..
Calvino Rabeni: is the window opened in a size that mismatches the screen?
Paradise Tennant: are you on a mac mitzi
Mitzi Mimistrobell: something like that sounds like a good candidate ... yes, on a mac, quite old, non-intel chip
Calvino Rabeni: You have a Communicate menu above?
Mitzi Mimistrobell: cannot install latest 2nd life - OS is too old
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I have a communicate button. When I click on it, to open the window, it makes a sounds and nothing happens.
Calvino Rabeni: Oh, ok, maybe it it viewer 1?
Paradise Tennant: what about downloading emerald
    Mitzi Mimistrobell: say what?
Paradise Tennant: much better graphics and more like viewer 1 nice big comfortable chat window
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I don't know what viewer 1 is
    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: That's the version you are runnng
Calvino Rabeni: Is there no triangle on the communicate button?
Calvino Rabeni: To raise a menu including Local Chat?
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Hi everyone, I'm back. ALl is well, My communicate windows was open but scooched way way over to the far right of the screen with only a tiny edge showing.
    Paradise Tennant: http://emeraldviewer.net/
Mitzi Mimistrobell: So what have we been talking about?
    Calvino Rabeni: TG4T :)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: ... translation please ...
Calvino Rabeni: Thank Goodness/God For That
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Aaah. I am hered. Here. Heard . whatever!!
Calvino Rabeni: Like OMG - Oh My God/Goodness
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Hi Paradise, nice to see you.
Calvino Rabeni: Ok, let us all "breathe" :) and drop technology :)
Calvino Rabeni: (if only it were so simple)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Hi Calvino, nice to see you as ell.
    Mitzi Mimistrobell: Breathe. Aaaaahhhh.
Calvino Rabeni: Nice to see you too :)
Paradise Tennant: smiles happy mitzi 's window has been liberated
Mitzi Mimistrobell: thank you - I'm feeling more here now. starting to be in a nicer mood ...
Paradise Tennant: cal has been describing a retreat he has just returned from :) a commune with nature :)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I like that topic ... can you say more?
Calvino Rabeni: About some things we might be able to be quick-change artists
Calvino Rabeni: but "dropping down" into a wilderness retreat takes some time
Calvino Rabeni: Is that your experiences also ?
Calvino Rabeni: For example, the place seems to change over time
Calvino Rabeni: starting out more like a collection of objects, seen a few at a time
Calvino Rabeni: later weaving together into more unity
    --BELL--

Mitzi Mimistrobell: I have had experiences along those lines ...
Mitzi Mimistrobell: sure, it takes time for our systems to adjust to a new environment ... very natural ...
Calvino Rabeni: Like the "sense of place" emerges as a whole - an identity
Calvino Rabeni: As we adjust to it - it becomes the carrier for meaning
Calvino Rabeni: as one starts to see the "internal" of the "external"
Paradise Tennant: nods .. but always amazed at how fast you fall into the rhythm of nature :) seems to be such a easy flow
Mitzi Mimistrobell: sometimes I feel that each place has a personality .... an identity .... like a person
    Calvino Rabeni: Yes
Calvino Rabeni: It does have a particular character and essence
Calvino Rabeni: then one relates to it in that way
Calvino Rabeni: as one unity to another
Paradise Tennant: what I find in the wild is that there is supporting energy .. hard to describe but that you .. filled up .. versus being drained :)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: ah yes ... supporting energy ...
Calvino Rabeni: These environments are so rich in many qualities
Calvino Rabeni: that whatever "medicine" you need may be there
    Mitzi Mimistrobell: indeed ...
    Paradise Tennant: yes
Calvino Rabeni: When I go on walkabouts I seem often to find unusual objects
    Mitzi Mimistrobell: oh yes?
Calvino Rabeni: Once I had a vision of tortise shells, and then nearly immediately found one (in an unlikely place)
Calvino Rabeni: But sometimes it's just curios
Calvino Rabeni: this time I found a coyote jawbone, and a metal bracelet (in a streambed)
Paradise Tennant: a jaw bone .. hmmm ..nature's talking stick :) . once when I was hiking i walked in to a glade where there were thousands and thousands of monarch butterflies they migrate .. the dog ran into them .. and they swirled up in the most amazing .. swoosh of colour
Calvino Rabeni: One question is, how one allows things to become meaningful
Calvino Rabeni: A memorable experience Paradise :)
Calvino Rabeni: Also what to do with "memories"
    --BELL--

Paradise Tennant: smiles .. treasure the good ones and forget the bad :)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: let the memories sink in and integrate with you ... they don't necessarily need to be specifically remembered ... we have so many of those ...
Mitzi Mimistrobell: ... our heads will get too full ... but what is the nature of memories? as you are thnking of them, Cal ... not to make assumptions
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, I think appreciation is an art - to increase the value (like taking the word in its other meaning - the experience bears interest (which is also true in *its* experiential sense))
Mitzi Mimistrobell: to respond to the next earliest thread ... I was thnking about our finding objects as a living dream ... in the same way an object in a dream can be interpreted to have meaning ... so too objects in real life are kind of like that too ...
Paradise Tennant: maybe all we are is a collection of memories trying to almost consolidate :)
Calvino Rabeni: I don't think we can expect them to consolidate - maybe in fact better not to
Calvino Rabeni: A memory is an active entity - not like a fixed snapshot - with attention it can deepen - there are many deep assimilation processes that take at least several days or longer - and attention can enable that process, while distractions can inhibit it
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Lucinda might have something to say on that topic if she drops in tonight ...
    Paradise Tennant: smiles yes :)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I certainly agree about memory being active ... each time we remember we alter the act ... it evolves ... it's not like pulling a document from a filing cabinet where it says exactly the same ...
    Calvino Rabeni: true
Calvino Rabeni: and what we "see" in it is who we are
Mitzi Mimistrobell: ... "a collection of memories trying to almost consolidate ..." I must let that sink in and assimilate, very interesting ...
Paradise Tennant: was thinking of how on physical level we are matter or particles that tend to almost consolidate but never do ..
Calvino Rabeni: (as in the quote - we don't see the world as it is, we see it as we are)
Paradise Tennant: maybe memories never really stay the same they are slightly changed by every thought they are in
Calvino Rabeni: Maybe - well actually they never consolidate but are always in flux, a long process of change, reaching into the past and future
Paradise Tennant: smiles a huge smile which is why you can never take a negative judgement seriously .. it won't last :)
    Calvino Rabeni: :))
Calvino Rabeni: I guess it's a pretty basic idea, but if one goes to a place, and it isn't rich and interesting and fascinating, that is actually a statement about one's capacities of attention, not about the place
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I do agree wholeheartedly with that last statement, Cal.
Paradise Tennant: hmm do not think I agree
    Mitzi Mimistrobell: say more Paradise?
Paradise Tennant: there are places that are just not rich interesting or fascinating .. macdonalds walmart .. towns in the rust belt that have lost their beauty
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, there are impoverished places
Paradise Tennant: well stripped places ..
    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: but what i meant was natural environments, where one is unable to appreciate them
Paradise Tennant: yes, with that I agree whole heartedly
Paradise Tennant: think .. it is impossible not to appreciate them .. sometimes some people just need longer to open their eyes .. :)
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, if they keep at it
Calvino Rabeni: "Just keep sitting there" is part of it
Calvino Rabeni: Eventually it will start talking to one
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Calvino Rabeni: that's a basic practice
Calvino Rabeni: There are two functions that are important, I believe, but have been freighted with negative regard in the rationalist culture - these are called projection and personalization
Calvino Rabeni: Those are supposed to be categorical errors in thinking
Paradise Tennant: I have been meditating now for four years pretty much daily. not always for long periods .. not always in a normal setting .. but what I love about it .. is that in quieting yourself ..there is so much .. more to be seen around you
Calvino Rabeni: Yes isn't that a treasure ..
    Paradise Tennant: listens
    Mitzi Mimistrobell: listens too
Calvino Rabeni: The sweat lodges were run by a native man in his tradition
Calvino Rabeni: All the elements of nature are treated as beings - that is, given the respect we'd accord to a person, and listented to for their communications
Calvino Rabeni: For instance - "listen to your House - your house has feelings too"
Calvino Rabeni: But a psychologist might consider it - if taken literally, mental illness to actually do that
Calvino Rabeni: (mistaking it for a real person)
Calvino Rabeni: And have the interpretation - well of course it is not a person, you're "just projecting" - seeing your own thoughts "AS IF" they were "out there"
Mitzi Mimistrobell: wow, keep on telling ...
Calvino Rabeni: And because thoughts are defined to be "internal" or in the head, it is wrong, by that perspective
    Mitzi Mimistrobell: mmm
Calvino Rabeni: So believing that things work that way - that thoughts are ONLY personal and in the head, or subjective - that they can't validly be referenced to things "in the world" (unless they are "about objects").
Calvino Rabeni: results in the world not being very useful to thinking ....
Calvino Rabeni: not being able to let the world think for oneself
Calvino Rabeni: and insofar as other people are defined as "out there" also
Calvino Rabeni: results in a lack of insight and empathy
Calvino Rabeni: heading one in a direction of autism, or solipsism
Mitzi Mimistrobell: wow, this is great, Calvino. You *DID* have a good retreat!!
Calvino Rabeni: That's the limitation of NOT personalizing and projecting
Calvino Rabeni: While I think it's possible to "allow" it and still keep track of "who's who"
Calvino Rabeni: Although maybe there is a lot more common ground than expected
Mitzi Mimistrobell: yes, I think it would be possible
    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: Science is starting to come around by studying the way brains (and by extension minds) synchronize with others, unconsciously
Paradise Tennant: smiles .. sometimes I find that when you are trying to figure out a problem ..having someone just stand beside you ..helps somehow another brain in proximity .. does the trick
Calvino Rabeni: So I'm suggesting that these functions enrich rather than threaten identity
Mitzi Mimistrobell: can we go back .. you said "not being able to let the world think for oneself" - can you elaborate a bit on this?
Calvino Rabeni: Yes Paradise, that's a good example -:)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: ... how brains synchronize with each other ... all of this utterly and completely threatens the Western world view in the most fundamental way!!
Calvino Rabeni: Suppose one's identity is extended throughout the natural environment in more ways - then events there would be invested with personal meaning - and be a source of insight and ideas relevant to one's personal process
    Mitzi Mimistrobell: yes
Calvino Rabeni: A simple example - you feel maybe stuck about something - but the river rushes on, relaxed but flowing and moving - seeing the river is seeing a possibility for one's own being
Calvino Rabeni: the linguists might say it is "only a metaphor"
Calvino Rabeni: But it is more than that - more, at least, than a figure of speech
Calvino Rabeni: More like a direct perception of possibilities, not currently present within the smaller collection of thoughts in which things seem "stuck"
    Paradise Tennant: in separateness
Calvino Rabeni: So at a minimum, nature is a book that can be read, for its "messages"
Calvino Rabeni: (to use a literary analogy)
Calvino Rabeni: Or considered to be "speaking" (to use an oral and personal analogy)
Calvino Rabeni: The personal analogy being culturally more fundamental and older
Paradise Tennant: they say it is impossible to define where we stop and the world begins .. there boundry is blurry at a subatomic level
Mitzi Mimistrobell: nature as mentor ... role model ...
    Calvino Rabeni: Yes
Calvino Rabeni: I don't think one can define where a "thought" is located, where it starts or stops
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Rupert Sheldrake posits that thoughts exist in a medium known as morphic fields, and that the brain is a device attuned to these fields ...
Calvino Rabeni: We live in a world of phenomena, qualities, fuzzy constructs, meaning, and so on
Paradise Tennant: by that definition I may be thinking your thoughts and you may thinking mitzi's thoughts :)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: ... they evolve and change ... and our thoughts evolve and change ...
    Paradise Tennant: rupert sheldrake ?
Calvino Rabeni: I think that idea has legitimate meaning, Paradise
Mitzi Mimistrobell: ... it certainly would explain the famous "hundredth monkey" phenomenon ...
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Paradise ... check him out at sheldrake.org ... a lovely man, I met him at a workshops about six years ago ...
Mitzi Mimistrobell: ah ... Lucinda may approach ...
Calvino Rabeni: Yes I'd expect that too :)
Paradise Tennant: was just doing that .. intriguing :) thank you
    --BELL--

Mitzi Mimistrobell: Sheldrake studies nonlocal communication between pets and owners ... very controversial ... but I think he's a consummate and impeccable scientist and his critics are scientific fundamentalists ...
Calvino Rabeni: Good evening, Cinda :)
Paradise Tennant: hiya lucinda :) gtsy
Lucinda Lavender: Hi Cal, Paradise an Mitzi!
    Lucinda Lavender: and flowers
Paradise Tennant: lol sounds wonderful .. was .. "being: with blue today!
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Hi Lucinda, I was invoking you earlier ...
    Lucinda Lavender: really!
    Lucinda Lavender: sounds fun...
Lucinda Lavender: how did that seem?
Paradise Tennant: we were talking of vision quests in dreams :)
    Lucinda Lavender: interesting...
Paradise Tennant: or finding meaningful objects in dreams
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I was thinkign finding an unusual object in real life was very similar to finding such an object in a dream ... was curious howyou might address that perspective ...
Calvino Rabeni: As I understand it, Sheldrake's results are primarily statistical, in the sense of correlations between events - but I'm not convinced he can locate any physical process such as a "morphic field" as physical correlates of phenomena
Calvino Rabeni: (reading Mitzi's question to L...)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Calvino - true, and he doesn't try to. He doesn't have any specific form he tries to allocate to such fields. Only that something like them must exist
Lucinda Lavender: I have heard of Sheldrake through the writings of my dream teacher
Lucinda Lavender: and she found him interesting too
Calvino Rabeni: That doesn't really appeal to me about Sheldrake - it suggests a misplaced physicality in my view
Calvino Rabeni: But on another interpretation I can agree with him
Lucinda Lavender: I have had an interesting experience of finding something before that was a not findable in waking consciousness...
Calvino Rabeni: It seems likely to mislead - like the sense of the word "energy" in new age thinking, which isn't electomagnetic energy like light, but more like a pattern or quality.
Lucinda Lavender: I did some meditation and a picture appeared of where the objuect was
Mitzi Mimistrobell: it is hard to understand just what he is trying to say. I didn't until I took a workshop in person.
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Well, Calvino, don't dismiss him quickly. He plays in the same fields that you do and could be a good friend or playmate for you.
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Calvino Rabeni: Thanks, I'm open to that, Mitzi
Paradise Tennant: smiles at lucinda .. what was the object ?
    Lucinda Lavender: smiling too...a retainer
Lucinda Lavender: I was about 16
Lucinda Lavender: and in the quiet meditation I saw it to be behind the trunk in my bedroom
Lucinda Lavender: so I went to look and there it was
Paradise Tennant: smiles at lucinda's mind's eye
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Sheldrake designs simple experiments that upset those who have rigid views about what could or could not be possible. His technique is above reproach. Try out his psychic email experiments - you just need 4 people with internet access. You can sign up on his wesite.
Paradise Tennant: that souds like fun mitzi
Lucinda Lavender: may be it is!
Paradise Tennant: believe his staring .. example
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Maybe the four of us should try it. Strongest effects are found in families typically.
Lucinda Lavender: checked his book out from the library about animals...forget the name
    Paradise Tennant: ok
Mitzi Mimistrobell: "The sense of being looked at"
Lucinda Lavender: Dogs who know when their owners are coming home?
Paradise Tennant: and believe that our minds extend .. out .. they reach out .. in a very tangible way
Mitzi Mimistrobell: that's the being stared at one. Can't remember the animals one, probably easy to find via google.
    Mitzi Mimistrobell: Yes.
Paradise Tennant: yes even from long trips back from florida!
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Even when there is no car, the time is not a typical time, etc. Video cameras on both dog and owner show that at the time the owner decides to come how, the dog becomes active and goes near the door, etc.
    --BELL--

Mitzi Mimistrobell: anyway, back to Lucinda ... do you use your dream techniues in real life too?
Paradise Tennant: nods I often look into blue's eyes and know he actively telling me things .. that I just don't get .. feell a bit like a dummy sometimes
Lucinda Lavender: which techniques are you picturing...?
Lucinda Lavender: the connections to others?
Calvino Rabeni: I understand the question
Lucinda Lavender: at dream circle there can be visualization within the dreams...
Lucinda Lavender: as in a kind of journeying?
Mitzi Mimistrobell: well, I as thinking of how to interpret the events in a dream in terms of our daily life dilemmas and concerns
Mitzi Mimistrobell: ... so what if we look at our life as a dream in the exact same way, and try to interpret the meaning of odd things that happen there?
Paradise Tennant: sometimes in rl .. in waking moments I get a strong sense it is a dream .. that if I really shouk myself .it would dissolve
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I mean things that happen or are found in our everyday life
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Paradise ... me too sometimes!
Calvino Rabeni: If you shake yourself in a dream, it may get more lucid
Mitzi Mimistrobell: uh huh I used to do that ... now I don't feel like doing that?
Lucinda Lavender: and some talk of looking at their hands
Lucinda Lavender: but I rearely have the luciity to make unexpected developments happen
Calvino Rabeni: I meant during the waking dream
    Lucinda Lavender: ah
Mitzi Mimistrobell: oh! I must try that soon!
Calvino Rabeni: It works sometimes - if your body becomes more alert and alive, then the capacities of thinking and perception can improve
Lucinda Lavender: in the waking dream ...and this is rare for me...everything slows down and i kind of make the least movement so as not to dissipate the sense of what is revealing itself.
    Mitzi Mimistrobell: good advice anytime!
Mitzi Mimistrobell: sometimes I feel I am in a lluminous and transparent "maya". In fact I felt like that this morning ...
Calvino Rabeni: Lucinda, that's a good idea - I mean, the dream's movement, not the ones you would create intentionally that are irrelevant to it
Paradise Tennant: smiles a big big smile at mtizi !
    Paradise Tennant: lumiinous transparent maya
    Lucinda Lavender: ah...
Mitzi Mimistrobell: my friend the luminous transparent maya!
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Lucinda Lavender: curious what you were looking at Mitzi...
Paradise Tennant: lol dog just effectively morphically resonated that he would like some marrow bone biscuits - he believes :)
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
    --BELL--

Lucinda Lavender: am thinking about how my curiousity...is connected to finding a certain story...
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Paradise - my front yard, the trees and street - very beautiful day this monring, colors especially transparent and luminous
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I do a contemplative prctice each morning on my porch. At the end I open my eyes and that's when I feel this feeling I described.
    Lucinda Lavender: sounds lovely
Mitzi Mimistrobell: yes, the story ... that's what hooks us. What happens next?
Paradise Tennant: meditation can alter your brain state .. quite dramatically ..tune you in so to speak :)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I'm not good at regualr meditation ... I do body based types.
Lucinda Lavender: I think I sensed a waking dream in the last few days...just cannot remember where I was or what it was about
Mitzi Mimistrobell: That's waht works for me.
Paradise Tennant: well I think I should say good nite or I will be doing a waking dream at work tomorrow :) thank you all for a great session as always :)
Paradise Tennant: would like to do those online experiments at rupert sheldrake's site one night that would be fun :)
Lucinda Lavender: thank you too... I would be interested as well
Calvino Rabeni: Good night Paradise :)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Calvino, do you have all of our emails? We could do this.
Paradise Tennant: namaste my friends :)
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Paradise are you leaving us. (Sad smiley)
    Lucinda Lavender: namaste Paradise
    Calvino Rabeni: _/!\_
Paradise Tennant: smiles a sad smiley at mitzi and waves good nite all :)
Lucinda Lavender: forgot what I was going to say...
Lucinda Lavender: what does the experiment look like?
    Lucinda Lavender: Sheldreakes...
    Lucinda Lavender: sheldrakes
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Four people sign up on his website. One is the guesser, the other 3 are the emailers. The guesser registers his guess on the website as to who is going to send an email. Then, the website invokes a random number generator to choose randomly one of the 3 emailers and sends them an email saiyng, you are the one, now email the guesser. The website compiles the data and let syou know what heppend. Also adds it to the data its compiled from the thousands of other experiments, you can see on there what the percentages are recently.
Mitzi Mimistrobell: The link is http://www.sheldrake.org/experiments/olt/start.html
Lucinda Lavender: sounds like the guesser must intuit which one will be heading his way.
    Lucinda Lavender: thanks
Lucinda Lavender: I will look at it...
    Lucinda Lavender: not beheading..
    --BELL--

Lucinda Lavender: Am getting tired now...worked all day at scraping and painting and stuff like that
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Here are all of sheldrake's experiements http://www.sheldrake.org/experiments/
Mitzi Mimistrobell: I understand, it was nice to see you. I like your kimono.
Lucinda Lavender: thank you:) almost ready for a change... si will look at the experiments...
Mitzi Mimistrobell: yes, calvino has my email - we need 5 not 4 to do the email telepathy experiment I just noticed. One guesser and 4 emailers.
Lucinda Lavender: wish I new some poetry for you cal...at this moment none comes to mind.
Mitzi Mimistrobell: but life is poetry anyway so it's probably OK
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
    Mitzi Mimistrobell: bye, lu!
Mitzi Mimistrobell: you seem about to fly away
Lucinda Lavender: Bye Mitzi yes the long sleeves...
    Lucinda Lavender: bye Cal:)
Calvino Rabeni: Talk to you soon, Cinda, bye for now
Lucinda Lavender: dreams and blessings to all.
Calvino Rabeni: Thanks you too :)
    Calvino Rabeni: .
Calvino Rabeni: (out of sequence chat lines are a bit irksome)
Calvino Rabeni: I was thinking of a recent item on the PaB mail list that makes the analogy that wikis are prose, chat (like this) is poetry
Mitzi Mimistrobell: yes, I've gotten used to them - the out of sequence chat lines - they have their own poetic resonance
Calvino Rabeni: in that one expresses something very briefly, perhaps only managing to suggest something, and the reader fills in a lot, reading between the lines
    Mitzi Mimistrobell: and rhythm
Calvino Rabeni: so it's not a great way to convey information
Mitzi Mimistrobell: hmmm ... all communication forms are inadquate in different ways
Calvino Rabeni: but for sharing already present understandings, it could work
Calvino Rabeni: :) So they are
Mitzi Mimistrobell: reminds me of haiku - brief, reader fills in between the lines
Calvino Rabeni: Shall we put the session to bed ?
Mitzi Mimistrobell: Sounds good ... I will enjoy flying away ... See you next time Calvino, thanks for excellent facilitation and fascinating content.
Calvino Rabeni: See you later, Mitzi, thanks
