The Guardian for this meeting was Eos Amaterasu. The comments are by Eos Amaterasu.

    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Eliza!

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Eos! :)

Eos Amaterasu: You look nice 'n fresh!

Eliza Madrigal: Thank you. I thought it was time to change clothes... had been a few weeks ;-)

Eos Amaterasu hesitates to look at himself...

    Eliza Madrigal: hahah

Eliza Madrigal: Well, you seem to be just fine. Maybe fresh is in the mind :)

Eos Amaterasu: Fresh is where things come from...

Eos Amaterasu: I often feel it in that point in the atmosphere where ice is turning to water and water is turning to mist and air....

Eos Amaterasu: that's where all the mermaids come from :-)

    Bleu Oleander: hi Eliza, Eos

Eos Amaterasu: wow - out of the blue: bleu!

Eliza Madrigal: that's an interesting idea. Water isn't fresh until we splash in it perhaps :)

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bleu! :)

    Eos Amaterasu: hi druth

    Eliza Madrigal: And Hi druth!

    druth Vlodovic: hi y'all

Eos Amaterasu: druth, you've been at Play as Being before?

    druth Vlodovic: a few times

    Eos Amaterasu: okay...

Eliza Madrigal: druth was a book the last time I saw her :)

Eos Amaterasu: anyone have a way to play as being tonight?

Eos Amaterasu: oh yes, now I remember... (the book)

Eos Amaterasu: Wol did a summary of her Windhorse Farm retreat experiences:

          "blueberry lions enoughness"

Eos Amaterasu: Do you want to give a commentary, Eliza? :-)

Eliza Madrigal: Mmm yes. I bought blueberries today, thinking of that...

Eliza Madrigal: Well, my summary would be blueberries=total satisfaction

Eos Amaterasu: blueberries were to NS RL retreat what almond cookes were to Malta retreat

Eliza Madrigal: lions=what wakes you up to see that satisfaction is in some sense, a choice to see what is

Bleu Oleander: have had a craving for blueberries since you all mentioned that

Eliza Madrigal: enoughness=corvi's word for what is

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Eliza Madrigal: and all of that being what we can share and explore and celebrate together

Eos Amaterasu: The lions are interesting... can u say more?

Eliza Madrigal: Ah, well Wol told a story of someone who basically met a lion... whose life was upturned or undone by its roar...

Eliza Madrigal: the fear that startled enough to change everything

Eliza Madrigal: to make a person ask whether they are alive

Eliza Madrigal: or just going through motions

Eliza Madrigal: So, for me... I related the lion to an illness I went through. Another might relate it to a loss of a career or loved one...

Eliza Madrigal: but in some sense the lion is always roaring :)

Eos Amaterasu: startled into fear, startled into waking up to life and death, into waking up

Eos Amaterasu: i think some kind of lion is necessary

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: Indeed, startled into waking up to life... and death

Eos Amaterasu: enoughness becomes more than enough

    Eliza Madrigal: Is it?

Eos Amaterasu: I wonder - it takes a lot to scare past the usual defenses and ignorings

Eliza Madrigal: it does seem to

Eos Amaterasu: a deep cough in the middle of the night in the African plains will do it

stevenaia Michinaga: hello Eos and Druth

    Bleu Oleander: hi steve

Eliza Madrigal: Hi Steve :) I guess Ruth is still with you

Some of Stevenaia's avatarish Ruth-ness is showing...

    druth Vlodovic: hi steve

stevenaia Michinaga: oh more prople rezzing, better wait to sit

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Eos Amaterasu: golly osky zero, it's bat Steve!

stevenaia Michinaga: yes, may the ruth be with me

    Eliza Madrigal giggles

    Bleu Oleander: :)

Eos Amaterasu: the ruth will set you free

Eliza Madrigal: you'll be free, only if you want to be...

stevenaia Michinaga: smiles, I'll keep you posted on that one Eos

    Eos Amaterasu: I'm curious myself

stevenaia Michinaga: try it, you'll like it

Eos Amaterasu: freedom tastes of reality

    stevenaia Michinaga: right ladies?

stevenaia Michinaga: sorry, didn't mean to interrupt

Eliza Madrigal: the lions will set you free...

Eos Amaterasu: perhaps every rite of passage needs a good lion's roar

Eliza Madrigal: :) Not at all Steve. Would you like a note to catch up?

    stevenaia Michinaga: sure

Eos Amaterasu: I forget who said, "I fear the man who has read but one book"

Eos Amaterasu: likewise, "I fear the one who has not jumped out of their skin"

    Eliza Madrigal: Interesting thought...

Eliza Madrigal: That is one thing I've been turning over since the retreat... and it made me think of the book you suggested to someone here Eos... "Smile at Fear"

Eos Amaterasu: We've been talking about Wol's summary of the NS retreat: blueberry, lions, enoughness

Eliza Madrigal: I enjoyed the fear of walking through the forest at night...

Eliza Madrigal: it was definitely fear, but it was exhilarating, enlivening

Eos Amaterasu: yes, interesting those little flickers of fear...

stevenaia Michinaga: it must be a universal fear

Eliza Madrigal: yes "Oh no, I lost everyone"

Eos Amaterasu: in the woods, in the dark, sounds of animals....

stevenaia Michinaga: loss of light, in the thickness of the enveloping dark

Bleu Oleander: must have been scary

Eliza Madrigal: just flashes of white flags, quick turns...

Eos Amaterasu: ghostly whisper of white, hope she doesn't make a sudden turn....

    Eliza Madrigal: yes

Eliza Madrigal: the exercize included stopping at times, too...

Eos Amaterasu: listening with all senses

Eliza Madrigal: so one would have to measure if they were stopped, or separated

    Eliza Madrigal: alert

Eos Amaterasu: coming back to our own wilderness aliveness

Eliza Madrigal: I really have been thinking, how to stay 'in touch' with that sense in particular...

Eliza Madrigal: that 'on the edge' ness

Eliza Madrigal: I think exploring reality, yes, definitely has that taste if you really do it....

Eliza Madrigal: really question and observe ...

Eos Amaterasu: the 9secs pause can be a dip into and from that freshness

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: dropping one's skin can be scary....

stevenaia Michinaga: :) on the other hand , it;s only what others see

    Eliza Madrigal: :))

stevenaia Michinaga: how important is that?

Bleu Oleander: one never really knows what others see

Eliza Madrigal: You Seeing Being Seeing can be pretty frightening... dropping 'what you have for what you are'

Eos Amaterasu: and we probably have years of seeing ourselves through others' eyes....

stevenaia Michinaga: only if we listen

Eos Amaterasu: what's the frightening part?

Eliza Madrigal: I meant to write... somehow dropped the 'see'

stevenaia Michinaga: wonders the same thing Eos

    Eliza Madrigal: vastness

Eliza Madrigal: both frightening and completely comforting

    Eos Amaterasu: ah

stevenaia Michinaga: have you ever switched avatars with someone?

stevenaia Michinaga: it's so much more than "being ruth"

Eliza Madrigal: neat idea Steve, no I've never done that

stevenaia Michinaga: aside from the finding someone who trusts you enough to let you be them

Eliza Madrigal: well it must play with your ideas of 'what is me'

Eos Amaterasu: Eliza, re the vastness...

stevenaia Michinaga: and what you are to the people you meet who know the "other person" they think yu are

    Bleu Oleander: interesting experience steve

Eos Amaterasu: so you get in their driver's seat, so to speak?

Eos Amaterasu: it's not just their avatar, it's their world

stevenaia Michinaga: I did that once in college, cut long hair and beard... no one recognized me (until I spoke) lost many friends that semester as they could not figure out where I went

Eliza Madrigal: oh, wow Eos. Thank you for that link

Eliza Madrigal: Did the friends change the way you felt as you, by not recognizing you?

stevenaia Michinaga: made for some very comical encounters

Eos Amaterasu: :-) blueberry and lion are one

        Eliza Madrigal: :)

    Eos Amaterasu: playing as other

stevenaia Michinaga: walking in another shoes

    stevenaia Michinaga: a learning experience

Eliza Madrigal: if one really does it... really explores, it can seem unhinging... like reading a book and being so immersed that that world becomes more real...

    stevenaia Michinaga: like a dream

Eos Amaterasu: or meeting an author thru their book, or poems, and feeling they are so real

    --BELL--

    Eliza Madrigal: mmhmm..

Eos Amaterasu: Li Ch'ing Chao Complete Poems

Eos Amaterasu: someone in the T'ang dynasty can feel side-by-side with you

Eos Amaterasu: timeless time leaking through

Eos Amaterasu: enoughness cheats, because it includes everything :-)

Eliza Madrigal: what lines she writes in "Sorrow" ... the first I clicked: I pine and peak And questless seek,,,

Eliza Madrigal: :) "Enoughness cheats"... Hm hm hm...

Eliza Madrigal: yes, I think that's part of the fear thing too... that one is alert second to second... micro second to micro second...

druth Vlodovic: gtg, have fun guys

    Eliza Madrigal: Bye druth :)

    Eos Amaterasu: ciao,druth!

    Bleu Oleander: bye druth

    stevenaia Michinaga: n ight druth

Bleu Oleander: nite all .... take care :)

    Eos Amaterasu: 'night Bleu

    stevenaia Michinaga: night bleu

    Eliza Madrigal: Night to Bleu

Eliza Madrigal: (from the log) :)

    Eliza Madrigal: the logs speak...

    Eliza Madrigal: hah :)

Eliza Madrigal: when did you last switch avs with someone Steve?

    Eos Amaterasu: the log rots

Eliza Madrigal: aye, that it does :)

stevenaia Michinaga: not for quite a while

stevenaia Michinaga: trust seems to go only so far, someone was cleaning out my inventory so I borrowed their avatar while they were me

Eliza Madrigal: I suppose that is the experience some twins give each other...

stevenaia Michinaga: most of their friends knew who I was so a short introdction was all that was necessary

Eliza Madrigal: Ah :) It seems a fun experiment

stevenaia Michinaga: I couldn;t "become" them

stevenaia Michinaga: jsut move their parts and speak their words :)

    stevenaia Michinaga: my words, rather

Eliza Madrigal: but perhaps it made you very aware of what the friend's rhyhms were, what they were 'like'

stevenaia Michinaga: but I did adore their avatar...grins, you can easilly become a narcicist

    --BELL--

stevenaia Michinaga: not sure how much of them I senced from it

Eliza Madrigal: yes I suppose one would learn most with someone they were quite familiar with...

    stevenaia Michinaga: nods

Eliza Madrigal: in a community where others were familiar as well

Eliza Madrigal: I can imagine it though...

stevenaia Michinaga: could make an interesting guardian meeting experiment

Eliza Madrigal: would make an interesting book

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

stevenaia Michinaga: instread of switching seats, we can switch avatars

Eliza Madrigal: I'd better go... beyond bedtime now :)

Eos Amaterasu: Beyond mine too :-)

Eliza Madrigal: Glad to have signed on tonight though. Thank you Eos , Steve. My mantra before bed is "the lion winks and laughs"

Eos Amaterasu: Thanks Eliza and Stevenaia

    Eos Amaterasu: :-)

    Eliza Madrigal: :)
