The Guardian for this meeting was Scathach, but Pema posted the log.

    Qt Core: hi Pema
    Pema Pera: hi Qt!
    --BELL--
    Qt Core: Hi Strannik
    Strannik Zipper: greetings
Pema Pera: Hi Strannik, good to see you again (was waiting for the 90 second pause to end :-)
Pema Pera: how have you been?
Strannik Zipper: Pretty well - and yourself?
Pema Pera: and btw, Qt, is this Scathach's session or yours?
    Qt Core: not mine
Pema Pera: fine! Happy to be back in Japan, after almost too many travels last month
Pema Pera: shall I claim the chatlog?
Pema Pera: or did someone claim it already?
Strannik Zipper: sounds like its up for grabs
Qt Core: none had, i think, it started recording on my arrival
Pema Pera: okay, I'll take care of it then.
    Pema Pera: hi Yaku!
Qt Core: if you only wear a red had we can play at where is Pema Sandiego ;-)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good morning
    Strannik Zipper: heh
    Qt Core: hi Yaku
    Pema Pera: :-)
    Strannik Zipper: Hi Yaku
Qt Core: someone forgot here his/her fishes

Qt pointed to a circle of little blue fishes swimming in the air above an empty cushion.

    Pema Pera: :-)
Strannik Zipper: perhaps they live in the pond now
    Yakuzza Lethecus: flying fishes :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: blub got baby´s ? :)
    Pema Pera: hehehe
Qt Core: you know, i sometimes wondered why we don't have some beautiful japan carp in the funtain
Pema Pera: you could always catch one and bring it here, Qt!
Strannik Zipper: they are expensive and very high maintenance
Strannik Zipper: on the other hand they can be tasty (slaps self -bad Strannik!)
    Pema Pera: :)
Qt Core: like most of the "fake" simplicity and of japan gardens and landscaping
Qt Core: (said as a compliment)
Pema Pera: yes, Japanese gardens need a whole lot of maintenance in order to continue looking natural
Pema Pera: yes, I understood, Qt
    Pema Pera: "cultivated simplicity" :-)
Strannik Zipper: There used to be a gallery in San Francisco called "Japonesque" that specialized in minimist artwork that communicated "suchnesss"
Pema Pera: often gardening is seen as a way to be in touch with nature, but in fact it is also true that gardening is one great struggle to let nature *not* do what it wants :-)
Strannik Zipper: we want garden, nature wants jungle
Pema Pera: did they succeed in communicating, you think, Strannik?
Strannik Zipper: some pieces better than others - but that is a real art in itself - to create something so ordinary that it takes your breath away

A new topic got started, around the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.

Qt Core: thinking about the need of organized chaos in galactic hithicker guide (what the spell would be)
Strannik Zipper: The main spell in the hitchhiker's guide is "DON"T PANIC" ;-)
    Pema Pera: :-)
Qt Core: but the philosopher scared by the idea og getting the final answer is interesting too
Qt Core: they would end up jobless
Pema Pera: Yes, I liked the notion of philosophers going on strike . . .
Pema Pera: and how much it would hurt!
Strannik Zipper: hahaha - to get the final answer only to discover that it was the question that was missing
    --BELL--
Pema Pera: did any of you hear the radio play?
Qt Core: i bought "and another thing", the sixthy volume of the trylogy (love that part) but i almost fear to read it)
Strannik Zipper: alas no -can it still be heard?
Qt Core: free y for all today
Pema Pera: it must be somewhere on the web, I would guess. It was wonderful, much better than the tv movies they made
Pema Pera: is that a book by Douglas Adams, Qt?
Strannik Zipper: I didn't think that the movie with Zooey Deschanel was half bad
Pema Pera: I'm not sure what I saw, it was something in the early eighties
Qt Core: well, based on Douglas Adams notes, written by Eowin Colfer
Strannik Zipper: The move was 2005 or later I think
Pema Pera: must be completely different then
Qt Core: there is an '00 movie, not bad, loved Marvin ;-) (even if i never envisioned it in that shape, more human)
Pema Pera: Marvin was a great character, also great voice in the radio play
Strannik Zipper: I loved the dolphins singing "So long and thanks for all the fish" in the opening credits
Qt Core: bein that a bbc (UK english) i may even understand it if i'll ever find it ;-)

I made an innocent suggestion; perhaps somebody will pick it up?

Pema Pera: it might be fun to try to write something like a hitchhiker's guide to Being . . .
Strannik Zipper suddenly realizes that he has misplaced his towel
    Pema Pera: :)
Strannik Zipper: If you write a hitchiker's guide to being, you can keep the "DON"T PANIC" on the back
Pema Pera: yes, I like that part!
    Qt Core: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0371724/
Qt Core: (now i want to hear it in enclish... Rickman as Marvin!
Pema Pera: you heard it in Italian?
Qt Core: i saw it in italian, yes, we dub all moviers here
Pema Pera wondering what Marvin would sound like in Italian -- did he have a regional accent perhaps?
Strannik Zipper: he should gesture more in italian
Qt Core: no, very flat italian if i remember it right
Pema Pera: sounds like Marvin all right :)
Strannik Zipper: How about in Japanese?
Pema Pera: Japanese movies are typically side titled
Qt Core: he would have done harakiry well before reaching the movie ;-)
    Pema Pera: or subtitled
Pema Pera: depending on writing vertically or horizontally
Pema Pera: well, I'll have to go, good meeting y'all here!
    Pema Pera: be well
    Strannik Zipper: cheers Pema!
    Qt Core: bye Pema

I took off and left Qt, Strannik, and Yaku to continue their conversation.

    --BELL--
Strannik Zipper: However, QT, I notice that you seem to be a fan of my other favorite series - discwordl!
    Strannik Zipper: er discworld
    Qt Core: ;-)
Qt Core: even more than the Guide (let say it... Discworld novels are at the same madness level but a little more coherent)
    Strannik Zipper: hehehe
Strannik Zipper: no Volgon poetry to worry about
Qt Core: But the Jockers Guild
    Strannik Zipper: yup
Qt Core: one of the few story (whatever media you consider) that make me have breathing problems :-)
Strannik Zipper: I tend to laugh myself silly as well - well I must depart - cheers QT, Yakuzza
    Qt Core: bye Strannik
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye strannik
Qt Core: have you ever read something from DIsceorld universe YAku ?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: oh never
Yakuzza Lethecus: simply watched the hogfarther and the other color of magic
Yakuzza Lethecus: of course even with 42 i stuck to the movie :)
Qt Core: it is great, and one of the best part are the footnotes (quite hard to put them on a movie)
Qt Core: in the end after all the laugh you make there is even a (sometimes not so suble) satire to out society too
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, that´s why it became so popular i guess
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey susan
Yakuzza Lethecus: what about you susan ?
Yakuzza Lethecus: do you read discworld, hitchkers guide ?
    Qt Core: hi susan
Susan Aloix: no i've not read discworld hitch hikers......
    Susan Aloix: hi qt
Yakuzza Lethecus: i told qt that i just watched the tv movies
Susan Aloix: i've read the book tho
Susan Aloix: ohh how did you find them?
Yakuzza Lethecus: i enjoyed both still i know what the bookreaders tell about movies :)
Susan Aloix: yeah....im very reluctant to watch anything...the book was priceless :)
Qt Core: i never saw anything on discworld, only the books
    --BELL--
Qt Core: the guide movie... i was intrigued/surprised by the choice of Ford Prefect never thought about it as non white
Susan Aloix: interesting how we imagine skin color with characters
Yakuzza Lethecus: my picture of the characters is formed by the movie
Susan Aloix: the BBC radio drama Yaku is awesome .....
Yakuzza Lethecus: oh, they´ve been discussing that before
    Yakuzza Lethecus: right qt ?
Yakuzza Lethecus: wasn´t that the one you talked about with strannik
    Qt Core: yes,
Qt Core: have to find them online sometime
Qt Core: and Zaphod too, it was not really "natural"
Susan Aloix: i listened to them that often...i can still recall a lot of the dialogue
Qt Core: as if three arms and two head would really be natural somewhere
    Susan Aloix: lol
Susan Aloix: ohhh gosh you're making me need to hear it again
Susan Aloix: i love the *Philosophy addict* sign yaku :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: ah, it´s just from philosophy island
Qt Core: does it disappear if the inhabitants lose their concentration ? ;-)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: there she goes
    Yakuzza Lethecus: of course not
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am never concentrated
    Qt Core: ;)
    --BELL--
Qt Core: time to go, the day go on...
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, take care qt
