The Guardian for this meeting was Bruce Mowbray. The comments are by Bruce Mowbray.  Attending were: SophiaSharon, Agatha, Wol, Eos, Aphrodite, Calvino, Darren, Roxana, and Bruce.

    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Sharon!
SophiaSharon Larnia: HI Bruce, Hi Wol :)
    Wol Euler: hello bruce, sharon
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Wol!
SophiaSharon Larnia: you made it home Wol! ? And you look very elegantly white today :)
Wol Euler: yes, I did, an hour late but no other problems. And thank you :)
Bruce Mowbray: I'm not sure who is to be guardian of this session -- If neither of you want it, I will claim it.
SophiaSharon Larnia: just an hour, laughs, you're right
SophiaSharon Larnia: I came early just to see Bruce :)
    Wol Euler: ah :)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
    Bruce Mowbray blushes.
SophiaSharon Larnia: up to you :)))
    SophiaSharon Larnia: laughs
Wol Euler: have you claimed a session before=?
Bruce Mowbray: I have claimed only two of them...
    Bruce Mowbray: claimed.
SophiaSharon Larnia: lol, let me rephrase, while I am very happy to see you, I meant, re: the log... I came early, just to see :D
Wol Euler: so "yes" :) good
Bruce Mowbray: ok. I shall claim it then...
Wol Euler: I couldn't remember whether I'd added you to the database list already
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes, I saw the congrats on the pab email ^^
    Bruce Mowbray: There we go.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Eos
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Eos!
    Wol Euler: hello eos
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi beings :-)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :D
Eos Amaterasu: May be forest be in your heart, Wol!
    Wol Euler smiles
SophiaSharon Larnia: I remember something I wanted to ask you Eos, I saw in a log, hold on
    Wol Euler: and yours, Eos.
Eos Amaterasu is considering a product line of snowglobes with little forests in them
    Wol Euler smiles.
Eos Amaterasu: just shake, pause 9 secs, and the forest is in your heart :-)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Eos Amaterasu is waiting with baited breath for what SSL will bring....
SophiaSharon Larnia: I saw snow globes with a lot of environments lol
    Bruce Mowbray waits and listens.
SophiaSharon Larnia: i read it this morning, a tried to catch up on a week+ of logs
    SophiaSharon Larnia: I tried
    Wol Euler appreciates the balance
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
SophiaSharon Larnia: ah there, "in a stress situation, you don't rise to your potential, you fall to your level of practice"
    Wol Euler nods.
Eos Amaterasu: I was quoting Wendy Palmer, who was quoting Bruce Lee :-)
SophiaSharon Larnia: laughs ok, that was my first question
Bruce Mowbray: Isn't that a quote from Bruce Lee?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: giggles
Eos Amaterasu: Bruce Lee rose to the level of the sign high up on the park wall that said "no dogs or Chinese allowed", and kicked it to bits :-)
SophiaSharon Larnia: regardless of where it's from I was thinking about, musing if it was completely true
    Wol Euler: :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: my knee jerk response was, no
SophiaSharon Larnia: so had to look at that
Eos Amaterasu: oh... actually, it is possible to hold oneself in one's highest intention
Eos Amaterasu: and the more one stays there the more one comes from there
Eos Amaterasu: so sooner or later, unbeknownst to oneself, one finds oneself acting from one's highest intention
Bruce Mowbray: Would that not be "practice" of one's intentionality?
Wol Euler: ... but surely holding oneself in that highest intention *is*practice?
    Wol Euler: snap
    Bruce Mowbray: yep.
    Eos Amaterasu: indeed, yes, practice
Wol Euler: so the statement is not-untrue
SophiaSharon Larnia: I can remember a handful of time where I acted within my level of skill, but with some added intuition or instinct as a result of the stress
Eos Amaterasu: "because we are already enlightened, we practice" - Suzuki Roshi
    Bruce Mowbray: hmmmm. . . . ;-)
Eos Amaterasu: because we have a hint of the end, we start at the end
Eos Amaterasu: or because we know what's not the end, we are sharply hungry for it
Eos Amaterasu: like a bob cat
Eos Amaterasu: (another line from Windhorse Farm forest practice...)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hehe
Eos Amaterasu: "feel your world like a bobcat"
    Eos Amaterasu: perk your whiskers
SophiaSharon Larnia: I'm not really referring to stressors like backup traffic or other mundane things
Eos Amaterasu: I guess stress can push you out of yourself, SSL?
SophiaSharon Larnia: Im thinking mainly in work situations, it's a different kind of stress, or was

    --BELL–

Bruce Mowbray: Some behaviorists think that the only way we can learn is through varieties of stree.
    Bruce Mowbray: stress.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: what is stress
Bruce Mowbray: (omg -- let's don't get started with "stree" again!)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: lol
SophiaSharon Larnia: on one hand its when you don't get your way
Bruce Mowbray: stress ---- [I'll try a definition] -- is the interruption of balance (homeostasis) by some external condition or actor.
Eos Amaterasu thinks that the snowglobe has to expand to include the workaday stressy flakes
    SophiaSharon Larnia: laughs
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Calvino
Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Calvino -- Do come on over and define "stress" for us.
Wol Euler: cal is looking a little stressed over there.
SophiaSharon Larnia: that's a good definition on a physical level, homeostasis of physical systems stress the body until it breaks
    Eos Amaterasu: ?
Bruce Mowbray: or until the body makes some adjustment -- "learns"
    Wol Euler: hello cal
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Cal
SophiaSharon Larnia: (oops I meant disruption of homeostasis etc)
    Calvino Rabeni: Hi, everyone
Eos Amaterasu: we are all bicycles
    Eos Amaterasu: multicycles
    Wol Euler remembers and grins
SophiaSharon Larnia: I like the 2-person bikes, they're fun
SophiaSharon Larnia: pouts because she missed the reference LOL
Calvino Rabeni: Stress is a condition of residual tension when the body-mind has been mobilized to meet a challenge and the action is for some reason incomplete
Eos Amaterasu saw a delightful 5-person bike in San Francisco, where people sat in a circle and pedaled - super fun looking!
Calvino Rabeni: it is an incomplete encounter cycle
SophiaSharon Larnia: ah! I was about to say, I've never seen a more than 2 person bike in rl
    Eos Amaterasu: unrequited actions
Wol Euler: the reference I'm thinking of is a dynamic instability, a bicycle is constantly just about to fall over and crash, and the rider keeps it going by constantly correcting
Calvino Rabeni: If that doesn't happen, it isn't called stress, it's called excitement and relaxation in a natural cycle
Eos Amaterasu recalls that it was in RL (tests totem)
Bruce Mowbray: So then, Cal, in such situations, do we rise to our level of potential or fall to our level of practice?
SophiaSharon Larnia: the action of riding a bike is used to imply a learned skill you never forget
Eos Amaterasu: although it's always manual labor
Eos Amaterasu: once you get it you know how to keep getting it
Calvino Rabeni: Right, Wol, same with a motorcycle, it doesn't go in a straight line but the rear tire constantly moves left and right of the centerline track of the front tire
Eos Amaterasu: but u still need to keep getting it
Bruce Mowbray: "in a stress situation, you don't rise to your potential, you fall to your level of practice"
Calvino Rabeni: reaching a limit and then falling back towards the center from one side and another
Wol Euler: or the mind while meditating, constantly drifting away from and being brought back to the breath.
    Wol Euler: *back
Eos Amaterasu: I think "level of rest" could be another way of looking at it
    Calvino Rabeni: yes
    Eos Amaterasu nods to Wol
SophiaSharon Larnia: level of rest vs fall
    Calvino Rabeni: or "base"
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes that feels truer
Bruce Mowbray: excellent analogy, Wol -- with meditation.
Eos Amaterasu: let Being hold us in its highest potential
    SophiaSharon Larnia: fall to homeostasis
Calvino Rabeni: but there's a dynamic relationship between base and peak
Eos Amaterasu: relaxation - in energy
Calvino Rabeni: to extend one through practice is to extend the other
Eos Amaterasu: bow to base, bow to peak
Calvino Rabeni: that's why martial arts always emphasize relaxation as part of achieving greater power
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Darren
    Wol Euler: hello Darren
    Darren Islar: hi everyone :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Darren.
Calvino Rabeni: it is a physical form of "dropping" before creating a new focused directed energy
SophiaSharon Larnia: I just learned the other day the body is weakest on inhalation
    Calvino Rabeni: HI, Darren
Eos Amaterasu: also coming not from your latest personality thingie, but from a greater field
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Darren
Eos Amaterasu: Yeah, roar as you pounce!
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :D
Bruce Mowbray: blow out as you lift the weight.
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes, so obvious, i know but still
    Eos Amaterasu: tonglen knows that
Bruce Mowbray: oh -- wonderful point, Eos.
SophiaSharon Larnia: (when I say learn, I mean filtered in so I get it) lol
Bruce Mowbray: In the practice of Tonglen, I actually feel "stronger" on the out-breath.
Calvino Rabeni: it depends on what is meant by weak or strong - inhaling, the body is strong for "grounding" but not for extending

    --BELL–

Darren Islar: if e relax ourselves we exhale
    Darren Islar: (no, we inhale)
SophiaSharon Larnia: inhales and exhales in the 90 seconds and feels the difference. Inhalation 'mind can detach', exhalation, 'grounded'. ?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Aphrodite
    Wol Euler: hello aphrodite
Calvino Rabeni: if you want to be strong in receiving something and taking it to earth, inhalation is good
    Eos Amaterasu: hi aphrodite
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hello all!
    Darren Islar: hi aphro
Darren Islar: yes, it is the other way around
    Calvino Rabeni: Hello Aphrodite :)
Darren Islar: inhaling is taking something
Darren Islar: exhaling is giving away
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Darren, Calvino
Darren Islar: and what you exhale is something you can give away or something you don't need anymore
Calvino Rabeni: during a stress experience, breathing is not natural
    Darren Islar: like tension
Darren Islar: in that way exhaling can also be used for grounding

[During the 90-second break, Bruce crashed and disappeared. That's two crashes out of three "claimed" sessions, if anyone's keeping score.]

    SophiaSharon Larnia: wb Bruce :)
    Eos Amaterasu: wb, bruce
Calvino Rabeni: and stress is to hold tension you are not directing any more
    Wol Euler: wb bruce
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Bruce.
Eos Amaterasu: give up fixation on self on exhale
    Darren Islar: wb
Bruce Mowbray: crashed due to over-stress, folks.
Eos Amaterasu: drop off the cliff
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Aph.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: eek Bruce :)
Eos Amaterasu: decenter from I, into the..... snowglobe!
Calvino Rabeni: What is the snowglobe, Eos?
Eos Amaterasu: one bright snowglobe pearl / phenomena dissolving // resting in just that
Eos Amaterasu: snowglobe is a meme that has possessed my mind lately
    Wol Euler smiles.
SophiaSharon Larnia: I was thinking the snowglobe as the demarcated place of 'I', nice to see other interpretations
Calvino Rabeni: a metaphor for the sense of the self as a stirred up container that could be allowed to settle ?
Eos Amaterasu: I see a snowglobe with the Windhorse Farm forest in it
Eos Amaterasu: or other special spot
SophiaSharon Larnia: so pretty im sure :D
    Eos Amaterasu: (adjust to taste)
    Eos Amaterasu: shake it
Eos Amaterasu: and all phenomena around you settle
    Eos Amaterasu: it's magic :-)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: ooooo
Aphrodite Macbain: shaken and not stirred?
    Eos Amaterasu: heh heh
    Eos Amaterasu: intoxicated
SophiaSharon Larnia: sometimes storms go round it
Eos Amaterasu: they are part of it: snow and rain
SophiaSharon Larnia: pulling visual camera back from snow globe and is not clear :)
Eos Amaterasu: Wol, can we have a snowglobe effect during the 90 secs?
    Eos Amaterasu: shake the pavilion
    Wol Euler: hehehehhe
Wol Euler: we'd have to set Storm to work on that one
SophiaSharon Larnia: (now wants to build a snow globe in sl called 'place of 'I') giggles
Wol Euler: but it could be done, yes.
    Darren Islar: Strom is storming
Eos Amaterasu remembers the Being Puzzled exhibit, coming up!
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :D
    Eos Amaterasu: storm is dramming
Calvino Rabeni: settling is one part of experience - the dynamic of the full cycle is important to develop through practices - especially in regard to stress, but also clarity and power
SophiaSharon Larnia: I made a sl version of my rl house, I can shrink it and put it in LOL
Calvino Rabeni: :) voodoo house, Sharon
Eos Amaterasu: Excellent (like in those Superman comics where the whole city is inside a globe)
SophiaSharon Larnia: nah just a carriage/farmhouse thing
    Wol Euler: :)
Bruce Mowbray: "full cycle": being shaken and then settling again and then shaken again, etc ?

    --BELL–

Calvino Rabeni: @Bruce, yes, being shaken or - shaking self - either receiving or originating
Aphrodite Macbain: Like the Shakers or Quakers
Bruce Mowbray: I've just come from an I Ching session with Pila and arabella. . .
Calvino Rabeni: for instance, for quick aerobic development, interval training is very effective
    Wol Euler: hello Roxana
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Roxana
Calvino Rabeni: because it repeats the cycle more times
Wol Euler: ooh, six days old. Welcome to SL.
    Roxana Falconer: LOL thanks
    Aphrodite Macbain: so repetition
Roxana Falconer: and Hello to everyone
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
Calvino Rabeni: Shaking is often a spontaneous expression of pent up energies
    Bruce Mowbray: Welcome, Roxana.
Aphrodite Macbain: of a cycle makes it more and more efficient?
Wol Euler: have you been here before?
    Roxana Falconer: Yes
    Wol Euler: good :)
Roxana Falconer: I've stopped in several times to ind no one here
    Darren Islar: hi Roxana
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hello Roxana
    SophiaSharon Larnia: ah
Bruce Mowbray: Then you already have the notecard, Roxana?
Roxana Falconer: Yes, I think so
Wol Euler: ah. OK, let me ask the proper question then.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: (brb rl interruption)
Bruce Mowbray: I just gave you another one, Roxana.
Wol Euler: Has anyone given you an introduction yet?
    Eos Amaterasu listens :-)
Roxana Falconer: Yes and I accepted it
Calvino Rabeni: the cycle can develop through practice - can get bigger (more dynamic range) or quicker (faster to rise or settle)
    Roxana Falconer: No intro
Calvino Rabeni: the settling is the body-mind letting go of one situation and getting open / ready for a new one
Wol Euler: ok, I'll give you the basics in IM so we don't disturb the others
Roxana Falconer: ok that sounds good
Calvino Rabeni: stress is when there is a holding of the old energy
    Bruce Mowbray: thanks, Wol.
Aphrodite Macbain: as I came in late, could you tell me what specific cycle you're referring to Calvino?
Calvino Rabeni: it gets stale and circulates internally
    Aphrodite Macbain: Calvino
Eos Amaterasu: our chat here is logged to a wiki (http://wiki.playasbeing.org): is that okay (to Roxana)?
Calvino Rabeni: The cycle I'm referring to is the body-mind's cycle of encounter with experiences
Eos Amaterasu: cycle of balance/unbalance, unsettled/settled
Calvino Rabeni: being mobilized, getting into action, engaging, adjusting, withdrawing, relaxing, settling
Eos Amaterasu: snowglobe shaken and stirred, snowglobe settled
Bruce Mowbray: [shaken snowglobe - settling snowglobe]
    Aphrodite Macbain: experience-process-react- experience-process-react?
Calvino Rabeni: the snowglobe could be a metaphor of that cycle
    SophiaSharon Larnia: snap
Calvino Rabeni: getting shaken, then settling
    Aphrodite Macbain: but that's not a cycle, that's just a shake-up!
Calvino Rabeni: but if you imagine everything going on in the snowglobe, all the parts of the cycle are there
Eos Amaterasu: not the perimeter of the experience-process-react cycle, but its still center
Bruce Mowbray: Does "settle" correspond to "Yin" energy and "Shaken" to "Yang" energy?
Eos Amaterasu: the center is there with any point on the perimeter
    Aphrodite Macbain: passive/active
Calvino Rabeni: Yin is the ability to settle
Calvino Rabeni: yin is what receives the energy that is settling
Aphrodite Macbain: the faster we can settle, the better?
    Calvino Rabeni: yes
Bruce Mowbray: mmmm. . . . Yin is embodiment of "settle"?
Aphrodite Macbain: settle is the right way to be?
Calvino Rabeni: I agree with that
    Calvino Rabeni: no
SophiaSharon Larnia: "in a stress situation, you don't rise to your potential, you fall to your level of practice" thinking of the yin and yang in that, too
Calvino Rabeni: the right way to be, is a natural cycle according to conditions
Aphrodite Macbain: but the default is settle
Calvino Rabeni: that's the message of the I Ching also
Aphrodite Macbain: until you're shaken again
Calvino Rabeni: it doesn't say Yin is best, or Yang
Eos Amaterasu: you settle in your practice
Calvino Rabeni: just there is constant change
Bruce Mowbray: Is "settle" the hub of the wheel and "shaken" the rim of that wheel?
Calvino Rabeni: and it moves in a cycle
Calvino Rabeni: I don't see it that way Bruce
SophiaSharon Larnia: stressors and homeostasis again
Aphrodite Macbain: but what are the stages of that cycle as it's not just on and off
Bruce Mowbray: ok -- say more, Cal.
Darren Islar: I think they are different systems, hard to compare
Calvino Rabeni: the cycle is active at every point in the wheel
Calvino Rabeni: at the very center, it is still active, but infinitely subtle
Bruce Mowbray: comparison of snowglobes with wheels -- apples and oranges?
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
SophiaSharon Larnia: they're both fruit lol
Calvino Rabeni: the center contains both yin and yang in an unmanifest state
    Bruce Mowbray: good clarification, Cal.
    Aphrodite Macbain: a fruit salad
    SophiaSharon Larnia: laughs
Eos Amaterasu: resting in both spinning and stillness
    Calvino Rabeni: yes
    Eos Amaterasu: occasionally dizzying :-)
Aphrodite Macbain: only 2 states of being?
Calvino Rabeni: it is all being, in any combination
Aphrodite Macbain: I usually find myself between those two states
Eos Amaterasu: we seem to like to think in dichotomies
Calvino Rabeni: the I Ching shows 64 states
Bruce Mowbray: two "energetic" modes: "shake" and "settle"
Calvino Rabeni: it just divides the pie into that number of pieces, but they are continuous
SophiaSharon Larnia: the interactive influence of % apples to oranges
Aphrodite Macbain: and how can we apply that to our lives, Calvino?
Eos Amaterasu: yes, two modes: neither is actually intrinsically better than the other
Bruce Mowbray: 64 patterns in relationship and continuous flow.
Calvino Rabeni: There are lots of ways to apply those principles
Aphrodite Macbain: I'd like to see the video
    SophiaSharon Larnia: LOL
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes Calvino?
Calvino Rabeni: If you like being calm, have a good exercise program, for instance
Aphrodite Macbain: Choose the opposite for balance?
Calvino Rabeni: Balance and also dynamic range
    Aphrodite Macbain: ?
Calvino Rabeni: if you get good sleep, you'll have more energy the next day
    Aphrodite Macbain: ah
Aphrodite Macbain: this is beginning to make sense to me

    --BELL–

Aphrodite Macbain: If you feel all jangled, sit and meditate
Calvino Rabeni: that is an example of the dynamic range of the cycle - sleep supporting strong activity
    SophiaSharon Larnia jingles
Calvino Rabeni: but about meditating when jangled - maybe not
    Aphrodite Macbain: 2 opposites no?
    Darren Islar: bye Eos
Bruce Mowbray: thanks for your offerings here today, Eos.
Eos Amaterasu: Thanks everyone, got to pop
Wol Euler looks up. Leaving so soon?
Calvino Rabeni: it's better to follow the jangled energy first - express it in motion, and THEN relax into meditation
Wol Euler: bye eos, take care
    SophiaSharon Larnia: bye Eos!
    Calvino Rabeni: Bye :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: bye.  happy popping
Aphrodite Macbain: This is more complicated than I thought
Calvino Rabeni: Maybe, but it's very natural
Darren Islar: maybe you'd better first take four laps around your house, then meditate :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: We have options
Calvino Rabeni: the body-mind left to its natural way, knows how to do it
Darren Islar: ah, sure Cal :)
Bruce Mowbray: walking and hiking are natural ways to meditate.
Aphrodite Macbain: Ah. But got a sense that opposites balanced things out. Too calm, go for a run. Nerves jangled-go for a run
Darren Islar: (sorry, was a bit late with my four laps)
Calvino Rabeni: The I Ching was an ancient philosophy about the cycle of energy and changes
Calvino Rabeni: but our body-minds work that way naturally - no study needed:
Aphrodite Macbain: The implication might be that it is possible to get new energy even as I grow older?
Calvino Rabeni: It is not about "control"
Darren Islar: yes, but then you need to understand the body-mind
Calvino Rabeni: but about expressing the natural cycle without as much interference
Darren Islar: and that means you need to open yourself to it
Aphrodite Macbain: but you would need to recognize that natural cycle
Roxana Falconer: I must go now. Just stopped to make a connection
    Calvino Rabeni: Yes
Darren Islar: yes, and on different levels
Wol Euler: bye roxana, take care.
Wol Euler: hope to see you again.
Bruce Mowbray: good to have you aboard, Roxana. Do come back.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye Roxana
    Darren Islar: bye Roxana
    Calvino Rabeni: Bye :)
Roxana Falconer: Wol, thanks so much for your help and information
Roxana Falconer: I will be back
    SophiaSharon Larnia: bye Roxana
    Wol Euler: my pleasure.
    Darren Islar: :)
Roxana Falconer: This is now a landmark
Aphrodite Macbain: We must be a little overwhelming
    Wol Euler: :)
Roxana Falconer: A bit but I am a fast learner
Bruce Mowbray: hoping to see you again!
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Agatha
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Agatha
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Aggers.
Agatha Macbeth: Howdy doodly doo :)
    Wol Euler: hello aggers
    Darren Islar: hi Agatha
    Wol Euler: nice outfit today.
    Agatha Macbeth: TY :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: blueberries?
    Agatha Macbeth: Truly
    Wol Euler grins
SophiaSharon Larnia: apples, oranges, now blueberries
Agatha Macbeth: A current subject it seems
    Agatha Macbeth: (No pun intended)
    Aphrodite Macbain: current?
    Calvino Rabeni: currant
    Aphrodite Macbain: currant
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yum
Bruce Mowbray muses: "Blueberry sauna of the na'vi?"
    Agatha Macbeth: As in...now....Aphro? ;-)
    Wol Euler grins.
    Agatha Macbeth: That's it, Bruce
Darren Islar: I'll be off, I mean going :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: bye Darren :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: contemporary currants
    Agatha Macbeth: Take care daz
    Darren Islar: bye everyone ;)
Wol Euler: goodnight darren, take care
Calvino Rabeni: My natural cycle says lunch time just about now :)
    Bruce Mowbray: bye, Darren!
SophiaSharon Larnia: bye all, off to shrink my sl house, throw in some snow particles, and make fruit salad in rl :)
Calvino Rabeni: So, I'm off too - thanks everyone :)
    Wol Euler: bon appetit cal
    SophiaSharon Larnia: have fun!
    Calvino Rabeni: ty
    Bruce Mowbray: bye, Cal!
    Agatha Macbeth waves to everyone
Aphrodite Macbain: look forward to that current globe
    SophiaSharon Larnia: laughs and waves
    Wol Euler: bye sharon
    Wol Euler: ah, missed her.
    Bruce Mowbray: bye, Sharon.
Agatha Macbeth: What's a current globe?
Agatha Macbeth: (Maybe it's a secret)
Aphrodite Macbain: speaking of fruit salads- I must go shopping. anyone have a good peach recipe?
Wol Euler: snowglobe, but I don't know the details of what they were talking about
Wol Euler: I was doing a newbie intro.
    Agatha Macbeth: Not me, sadly
    Agatha Macbeth: Snowglobe eh
Aphrodite Macbain: Talking about energy cycles and the I Ching
Agatha Macbeth: Oh the I Ching, yeah
Aphrodite Macbain: hard to summarize tho Bruce could do a better job than I
Agatha Macbeth: Or maybe Blub could
Bruce Mowbray: well -- Blub and I are getting kicked out of the library in a couple of moments.
    Agatha Macbeth: Shame!
Aphrodite Macbain: Bye all. Stay cool Bruce. Off to buy a fruit salad
Bruce Mowbray: Blub lost his library card, it seems.
Wol Euler: bye Bruce, bye aphro
    Bruce Mowbray: bye, Aph.
Agatha Macbeth: Looks like you'll need to use your own A/C then
Wol Euler: be productive and constructive members of society.
    Bruce Mowbray: yep.
    Agatha Macbeth: Be fruity Aphro
    Aphrodite Macbain: he he

    --BELL–

Bruce Mowbray: before you arrived, Aggers, we had a very extensive discussion of snowglobes.
Agatha Macbeth: As in the viewer?
Wol Euler: no, as in the toys
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
Wol Euler: Eos is thinking of making one
    Wol Euler: in SL
    Agatha Macbeth: Really?
    Agatha Macbeth: How big?
Wol Euler: just big enough to have enoughness, I'd guess.
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh, *that* big
    Wol Euler: mmmm :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Ok
    Wol Euler grins
Agatha Macbeth: I can relate to that
Wol Euler: sure, it's a standard size. DIN and EN norm
Bruce Mowbray wonders if he'll need a bigger monitor to see all that enoughness.
    Agatha Macbeth: Of course
Agatha Macbeth: No lions involved then?
Wol Euler: essence of lionness, perhaps
    Agatha Macbeth: Fair enough
Agatha Macbeth: Enough is enough, as donna summer said
Bruce Mowbray: Madam Librarian is saying Blub and I have to leave now.
    Agatha Macbeth: Fascists! ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: Have a fine rest of your day, folks.
Wol Euler: bye Bruce, take care
    Agatha Macbeth: Take care Bruce
Wol Euler: ask if her name is Marion
    Wol Euler: too late
    Agatha Macbeth: Maid Marion?
Wol Euler: there was a madam librarian named Marion in the musical "The Music Man"
Wol Euler: one of my mother's favorites
    Agatha Macbeth: Damn. Missed that
Wol Euler: we listened to it hundreds of times when I was a kid
Agatha Macbeth: Who was in it?
    Wol Euler: dunno
Wol Euler: but I bet IMDB does
    Agatha Macbeth: >.<
Agatha Macbeth: We listened to it hundreds of times but don't know who's in it...
    Wol Euler: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056262/
    Wol Euler: sure
    Wol Euler: I didn*
Wol Euler: I didn'T say we read the LP cover hundreds of times
    Agatha Macbeth swats you
    Agatha Macbeth: Shirley Jones
Agatha Macbeth: Of Partridge family and Carousel fame
    Wol Euler: indeed
    Agatha Macbeth: Hermione Gingold
Agatha Macbeth: The rest I never heard of I'm afraid
Wol Euler: I'm sure they were very highly respected in their day
Wol Euler: nearly fifty years ago

[As one who also listened to The Music Man "hundreds of times," indulge Bruce a bit of nostalgia, if you will:  This was Ron Howard's FOURTH movie appearance - at the age of 8!  (He'd already done over a dozen TV shows.) In The Music Man Ron played Winthrop Paroo, a little boy who pronounces "s" as "th" -- as in "Thumpin' thpethal ith comin' to River Thity!"]

    Agatha Macbeth: Oh no doubt
Wol Euler: Ozymandias and all that.
Agatha Macbeth: He was an owl
Wol Euler: and a memento mori
    Wol Euler: http://www.online-literature.com/shelley_percy/672/
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh, right
    Agatha Macbeth: Old Bysshe?
    Wol Euler: that's the one
Agatha Macbeth: Funnily enough I was listening to something about Lord Byron on the radio earlier
    Wol Euler: mmm?
Agatha Macbeth: Child Harold...you know it?
Wol Euler: only by reputation, I've never read it
Agatha Macbeth: Well I only heard the précis so to speak
    Wol Euler: !list
