The Guardian for this meeting was Eliza Madrigal. The comments are by Eliza Madrigal, who was first joined by Widget & Eden, and then for a little while, by Pema.
In this musical session we touch on tunneling away, resonating from the core, and essential harmony...
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Widget! :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: It is lovely to see you, oh and how interesting that snow flies as you walk...
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Eden :) Good Morning
Widget Whiteberry: Does it! Hello Eden
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, yes... did you see Eden...
Eliza Madrigal: haha, how neat
Eliza Madrigal: The three of us seem to be dressed for retreating
Eden Haiku: Good morning Eliza,, Widget-as-the-Hermit ;-)
Widget Whiteberry: or hibernating
Eliza Madrigal: yes! :)
Widget Whiteberry: for some reason, I'm unwilling to change out of this
Eden Haiku: Beautiful snowstorm here this morning!
Widget Whiteberry: snow and wisteria
Eliza Madrigal: It is fantastic Widget. Do you feel somehow comforted, or?
Widget Whiteberry: comforted, yes
Widget Whiteberry: I feel 'right'
Eden Haiku: I meant the storm here in Montreal ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: Lovely, Eden : )
Widget Whiteberry: ah! here in northern California it's mearly foggy
Eliza Madrigal: I'd really like to visit Montreal some day
Eden Haiku: Are you still feeling hermity Widget?
Widget Whiteberry: merely*
Widget Whiteberry: I am
Eliza Madrigal: Hermiting is a good topic
Eliza Madrigal: I've been going through a 'contracting' kind of thing myself...
Widget Whiteberry: difficulties with teleport only reinforce my feeling
Eden Haiku: You should visit when it is minus 40 celsius. That is something!
Widget Whiteberry: drawing inward?
Eliza Madrigal: yes, a bit... or rather in some ways
Eden Haiku: I see what you both mean.
Eliza Madrigal: it seems to be quite natural to go through seasons of outgoingness and exposure... seasons of inwardness and hm... even tunneling...
Eden Haiku: I have been feeling like that too: a necessity to protect myself. Yet, a desire to expand.
Widget Whiteberry nods
Eliza Madrigal: seems the deeper the dig, perhaps the higher the reach
Hypnagogia...
Eden Haiku: Tunneling: i like that idea. In fact, I had that vision yesterday, in hypnagogic state, right before I went to sleep, of going into a underground tunnel.
Widget Whiteberry: a teacher of mine used to say that the ability to feel great joy was linked to the ability to feel equally great sorrow
Eliza Madrigal: Oh My, Eden
Widget Whiteberry: hypnagogic?
Eliza Madrigal: that makes great sense Widget.. capacity
Eden Haiku: Is that a bad omen Eliza ;-)?
Eliza Madrigal: :) I sincerely do not think so... perhaps a glimpse of today's conversation :)
Widget Whiteberry: did you have a sense of what the tunnel looked or felt like
Eden Haiku: Hypnagogic is a state not anymore awake, not yet asleep. Or the contrary (waking up). In-between.
Widget Whiteberry: I like that state - a lot
Eliza Madrigal: yes, me too... seems a visionary state
Eliza Madrigal: Although Fox Monacular has discussed that also being a nightmarish time for some... especially in adolescence
Eden Haiku: Yes, me too, I like that. The tunnel was a good feeling, very real.
Eliza Madrigal smiles
Eliza Madrigal: I came back into spiritual life pretty strongly due to a hypnogogic state vision of sorts actually...
Eliza Madrigal: or Hm... not sure what a hearing vision is. Hah
Eden Haiku: listens with interest
Eliza Madrigal: but I had an experience with a pestering gecko outside my window for months....
Widget Whiteberry: I'm so, sorry, I must attend to something. Please carry on.
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Widget, good to see you :)
Eden Haiku: Ok nice to see you Widget!
Eliza Madrigal: and one night it began singing a haunting, ethereal kind of melody
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: We talked about resonance at your session Monday... and that was what it was like...
Eden Haiku: The gecko was singing a madrigal for you? ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: his song was at my core...
Eliza Madrigal smiles widely, yes! :)
Eliza Madrigal: He gave me a taste of a kind of Harmony I believe...
PaB Polyphony and Castaneda...
Eden Haiku: Wonderful experience, very deep. PaB is a polyphony also isn'it? These meetings?
Eliza Madrigal: and I began to relax and allow, more, which in a way, brought me to PaB
Eliza Madrigal: YES!
Eliza Madrigal: Do you often have visions? Is that how the poetry comes so naturally to you?
Eden Haiku: A gecko, what kind of animal is it? It is not a bird is it?
Eden Haiku: Will look it up..
Eliza Madrigal: Ohh no... hehe... a reptile... like a chameleon
Eden Haiku: Ah, that was my first thought, like a lizard. But I did not know these reptiles can sing?
Eliza Madrigal: Well, it depends, I learned, on how one hears...
Eliza Madrigal: Before that hypnogogic state vision, he sounded like Rwaaaack
Eliza Madrigal: A horrible sound
Eliza Madrigal: That's why I felt him a pest :)
Eden Haiku: I see. You said an ethereal sound. He was at another level. I have goosebumps hearing your vision.
Eden Haiku: Remembering Castaneda.
Eliza Madrigal: And I had goosebumps in that state!
Eden Haiku: A creature from the nagiual openng to you,
Eliza Madrigal: Oh.. he keeps coming up, but I've not read him
Eden Haiku: *nagual
Eliza Madrigal: So many interesting people point to that book
Eliza Madrigal: Can you say more?
Eden Haiku: Your experience seems to be connected to the world Castaneda describes in his books.
Eliza Madrigal: Maybe I should read them then!
Eden Haiku: You entered then something thei Indian sorcerer in the book calls the nagual,
Eden Haiku: The nagual would be all the mysterious unknow, the way I understand it.
Eliza Madrigal: The Mysterious unknown sounds a bit like the core of things....
Eden Haiku: Compared to the tonal whichn is the common sense, common view, consensus on reality, everyday experience.
Eden Haiku: Yes core of things.
Eliza Madrigal: Void, in a sense?
Eden Haiku: My brother is an engineer in electronic, never read castaneda but is intrested in recent scientific findings about the superchords. Ever heart of that?
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, yes I have
Eliza Madrigal: Not sure if in the same way of course.. but yes in terms of resonance.....
Eden Haiku: Resonance yes.
Eliza Madrigal: Did you see my question earlier regarding visions? I don't mean to pry, but it is interesting that people often talk about dreams, but rarely visions
Eden Haiku: My brother was saying that parallel realm might be just inches away from us. That is what Castanedo teaches in his books, essentially.
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, yes. In fact Hawking and others have begun to talk about a kind of hm... parallel universes as bubbles... some so minute they are right where we are, in a sense. I do find that fascinating! The picture painted is one of bubbles on membranes of woven chords....
Eden Haiku: Yes, sorry, I had to deal with a phone call from my Dad. There is funeral he wants to attend on Saturday and he wanted me to find out on Internet the direction to the church. But we are only Wednesday...He is always a step ahead my Dad..Yes, about vision.I would love to answer that question Eliza. So where to start? Yes, I do have visions.Writing has been a way to cope with them.
Eliza Madrigal: and honestly it seems to have resonance with ideas in writings from thousands of years ago
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, no worries. Nice to have a dad ahead of things :)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, that makes perfect sense to me Eden, re writing coping!!
The half blind leading the blind....
Eden Haiku: Not technologically though. I'm his tech person. Dans le royaume des avuegles, les borgnes sont rois, The half-blind leading the blind ;-)
Eliza Madrigal giggles wildly
Eden Haiku: smiles at Eliza apperciating her humour
Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eden Haiku: So vision, yes. They could be bewildering. They have been in the past.
Eden Haiku: A fe years ago, I could step into a past life memory on a snap.
Eliza Madrigal: Perhaps there is something to be said for taking them "lightly"
Eden Haiku: And switching back to Real World was not always easy.
Eliza Madrigal: Oh my...yes I imagine
Eden Haiku: Yes, I started realxing about all that when I lived almost two years in India, many years ago.
Eliza Madrigal: Combined with the parallel universes idea, the past lives idea becomes pretty interesting, too
Eliza Madrigal: like everything is taking place at once... or not even taking place
Eden Haiku: Yes, past lives would be an hologram really.
Eliza Madrigal smiles, yes I see you've really thought about it too :)
Eden Haiku: Past, present and future being simultaneous,
Eliza Madrigal: timelessness
Eden Haiku: A teen once asked me; You see the past but can you see the future?
Eden Haiku: She puzzled me.
Eliza Madrigal: Hm, what did you answer
Eden is persistent...
Eden Haiku: Back to your hearing vision (we should find the word, thereb is one I am sure). It reminds me of something,
Eliza Madrigal: there is a sense that the most minute things matter in ways we can't conceive of, sometimes
Eden Haiku: To the future? I said no, sorry. But then I thought it must be as easy to access. But I had enough on my plate....
Eden Haiku: The most minute things, you are so right!
Eliza Madrigal: just taking time to do a little something well, etc.
Eden Haiku: Yes, I agree,
Eliza Madrigal: Once I realized that I was looking at the future, but I was using figures, situations from the past... so essentially.. it was still being caught in past
Eden Haiku: Oh. Interesting!
Eliza Madrigal: but that is more about normal processing and fantasies I guess, than visions
Eliza Madrigal: Do you have a word for a hearing vision?
Eden Haiku: When I was the disciple of an Indian guru, she was giving spiritual names to certain people.
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Pema, Good Evening :)
Eden Haiku: hello Pema!
Pema Pera: Hi Eden and Eliza! Good morning!
Eden Haiku: Sharing about visions,
Eden Haiku: back to my story Eliza, welcome in the train Pema...
Pema Pera: nono, I'm in my own place, my "home" in Tokyo, and it's almost 1 am -- but don't let me stop your stories!
Eden Haiku: So I thought I could pick my own name. I saw that Sarika meant singinging as nightingale.
Eliza Madrigal: :) ohhh
Pema Pera: I like the sound of it "Sarika"!
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: So I asked for that name. She said no. I asked 3 times. The guru said no the 3 times ;-) I almost called myselfe Sarika on Second Life. Yur gecko ethereal singing reminds me this Sarika-nightingale feeling I had. It is connected to that hearing vision sense you were talking about Eliza,
Eliza Madrigal: Pema, Eden and I wondered if there was a word for a vision that was 'hearing'... maybe poetic licence allows us to call it "sarika"? :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)))
Pema Pera: hmmm
Eden Haiku: Clairaudience in French.
Eden Haiku: Looking it up in English.
Eliza Madrigal: There, then! I'm happy to keep the Frech :)
Eliza Madrigal: French
Pema Pera: it's a great question!
Pema Pera: "hearing" certainly is not the answer . . . .
Pema Pera: a "hear" perhaps?
Eliza Madrigal: there is a sense of resonance... of endless/timeless harmony
Eden Haiku: The word is apparently the same in English. It seems to be what your experinece with the gecko singing was Eliza.
Eliza Madrigal: even a gecko can be a spiritual friend :)
Eden Haiku: Could you tell the story for Pema and for me again (again! again! like in the Teletubbies). Please Eliza!
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, no Pema has heard it :))
Pema Pera would love to hear it again!
Pema Pera: :)
Eden Haiku: Me too, me too! You will tell it differently.
Eden Haiku: It is never the same.
Eliza Madrigal: We began by discussing why in life we discuss dreams often, and various things, but somehow not visions...
Pema Pera: like explaining PaB for a newcomer
Eden Haiku: Minute details
Eliza Madrigal would feel terrible for the log readers, hearing it twice! :D
Pema Pera: (they can skip from here on)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, okay...
Pema Pera: ((though some of them will enjoy reading it in different ways!))
Eden Haiku: feel free to skip. E
Eden Haiku: Waving to the log readers!
Eliza Madrigal: Eden described a hypnogogic state in which she saw a tunnel.... we had been talking a bit about hermiting and retreating.....
Eliza Madrigal: and we both agreed that we enjoyed that state generally... so of course I remembered 'my' gecko
Eden Haiku: You did not give many details before Eliza. About the contexte where and when you had the experience Why don't you now?
Eliza Madrigal: haha
Eliza Madrigal: Hm
Pema Pera enthusiastically seconds Eden!
Eden Haiku: Like: i was looking through the window, at noon, in Summer.
Eliza Madrigal: The context was one of someone going through a strong life transition and feeling very 'stuck'... but knowing that no one would come and rescue her... so that she began to begin to see things in a new way....
Eliza Madrigal: and to examine things... "How might I see 'this' differently?"
Eden Haiku: listens
Eliza Madrigal: And there coming along this noise in the night... a terrible sound like a scraping or... well, "rwaaack" is still the best I can do ...
Eliza Madrigal: and this sound persisting...months....
Eden Haiku: oh, in the night. that is important.
Eden Haiku: For months?
Eliza Madrigal: I lay down, fall asleep (love my sleep)..and am woken constantly...
Eliza Madrigal: yes! Months!
Eden Haiku: oh
Pema Pera: sounds like a true nightmare . . .
Eliza Madrigal: He becomes a terrible enemy... picture me in bare feet in the back yard... looking for him
Pema Pera: with a dubble barreled shotgun?
Eliza Madrigal: Not sure what I will do when I find him... but...something....
Eliza Madrigal: YES ... good that I didn't have that!
Eliza Madrigal: I talk about him every day... in emails with friends, etc
Eden Haiku: bare feet in the backyard. Goosebumps...
Eden Haiku: Wow!
Eliza Madrigal: But then, so tired... I say "Well he must be here to teach me something"
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: Surrendering,
Eliza Madrigal: and then a little shift... a tiny click.... yes surrender, and somehow from a very deep place that I'd not tended to in a while....
Eden Haiku: yes?
Eliza Madrigal: and a night or two later I am awoken by him again....
Eliza Madrigal: but I remember the click... and he begins singing... or rather I hear him actually...
Eden Haiku: What a shift!
Eliza Madrigal: I am not quite awake... and the sound is within me.. hearing him from inside out... in a sense....
Eliza Madrigal: but then also response/resonance.... brilliantly unfolding quality to the music...
Eliza Madrigal: chills....
Eliza Madrigal: Then, just as I am happy for him to stay, a few days later, he moves on :)
Eden Haiku: And the sound is within me¨: you are really true to your name Eliza Madrigal ;-)
Pema Pera can almost hear the gecko
Pema Pera: such a lovely story, Eliza!
Eliza Madrigal smiles, thank you...yes a real gift
Eliza Madrigal: I was telling Eden that he brought me to PaB in a sense...
Eliza Madrigal: opened up my resonating heart perhaps :)
Eden Haiku: Pema, I was telling Eliza before how Eliza is a madrigal of polyphonic voices and serves the polyphony as well!
Pema Pera: thank you for telling it in more gracious detail this time!
Pema Pera amazed at all the sound associations here today!!!
Pema Pera: including Sarika
Eden Haiku: Yes, it was a very gracious way of telling this incredible story. It resonates deeply for me right now.
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, just beautiful
Night, Pema...
Pema Pera: alas, with all the talking about sleeping, I think I should get some sleep myself
Eden Haiku: Especially that I have to deal with someone who irittates me...
Eliza Madrigal: yes you should, Pema :)
Eliza Madrigal: Night :)
Eden Haiku: Pema, it is always a pleasure seeing you .
Eden Haiku: Nite!
Pema Pera: same here, Eden!
Pema Pera wondering whether he will have an audio dream
Eliza Madrigal: me too!
Pema Pera: I'll let you both know if I do!
Eliza Madrigal: Let us know :)
Eden Haiku: Audio dream ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: yes :)
Pema Pera: In Japanese, we say "I see a dream" rather than "I have a dream"
Eden Haiku: Can't wait for your audio dream!
Eliza Madrigal: Ahh, nice
Pema Pera: perhaps I will hear a dream now
Eliza Madrigal: ^^
Eden Haiku: Like I see a safe return in Kundun, the movie!
Pema Pera: hear you soon, Eliza and Eden :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hear you soon Pema :)
Eliza Madrigal: AH, a nice film Eden!
Eden Haiku: ^-
Eliza Madrigal: That visual of the sand mandala...wow
Eden Haiku: Yes, I love Kundun.
Eliza Madrigal: Eden, is there a pestering gecko in your life?
Eden Haiku: In SL there is. Not in RL fortunately ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: That really is the real world application of such a thing... that we can hear differently.... more openly, generously
Eliza Madrigal: Ah
Eden Haiku: Yes, I'm really connecting with your gecko story.
Eden Haiku: As a way to open and surrender and wait for the moment where theterrible sound will become an ethereal singing.
Eliza Madrigal: Those stories are everywhere... like parallel universes perhaps
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: have you read Women running with wolves by Clarissa Pinlo Estes?
Eliza Madrigal: Thank you. I'm glad you like it. :)
Eliza Madrigal: YES! I have!
Eden Haiku: I have the feeling you are a powerful cantadora as she is.
Eliza Madrigal: Hm... well Thank You for saying that :)
Eden Haiku: Would be a good idea to write down the story Eliza if you haven't already. With all the minute fine-tuning so it conveys all you felt.
Eliza Madrigal: Well I did talk about it in a PaB Chronicles interview with Adams...
Eden Haiku: Oh, I will look it up.
Eden Haiku: Thanks.
Eliza Madrigal: because I honestly do think he brought me here... or at least set a kind of stage :)
Eliza Madrigal: gave me permission to follow my heart.. to listen for the essential
Eliza Madrigal: You do that... and as you said, that's where the poetry arises from?
Eden Haiku: I would like to ask for your help in posting the 9 seconds at odd intervals work in progress. Do you have time for vthat? In IMs maybe?
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, of course!
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: It would be fun to interview you, btw, Eden :)
Eden Haiku: Should we leave the pavilion? Would you like to visit my house in the village?
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, yes I'd like that... dont think I've seen your house!
From here Eden and I went to her lovely tea house in the village, and she easily posted 9 second poetry reflections on her Guardian Contributions page. Really lovely, and wow, a YSBS one or two!
