    Liza Deischer: okay
Scathach Rhiadra: have you taken up alf's position Wol?
    --BELL--
Wol Euler: I've put in a new version of the listener script, and am here to watch over it, to see that it behaves properly
Wol Euler: so I will be concentrating on that rather than on the conversation
    Liza Deischer: listener script?
Wol Euler: the auto-recording system that we have here
    Liza Deischer: oay
    Liza Deischer: okay
Liza Deischer: somebody has to say somthing important about Wol, since she is not here :-)
    Wol Euler: :-PPPPPP

    Liza Deischer: hi Agatha, Aubergine
Zen Arado: I tried once but it didnt work Bert
    Aubergine Mint: hi Liza
Zen Arado: oh you need your own group then?
    Liza Deischer: yes
    Bertram Jacobus: yes
Bertram Jacobus: or - if you are member and want aspecial title - you can ask the owner to get it
    --BELL--
Agatha Macbeth: Nice of you to drop in Eos
Eliza Madrigal: Hello Eos :) Nice landing
Liza Deischer: the perfect landing Eos
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello eos:)
    Stim Morane: Hi Eos
Bertram Jacobus: "damn" - missed the landing - hi eos ! ;-)

    Eos Amaterasu: :-) Bert
    Bertram Jacobus: :-)
    Liza Deischer: weget it Eos
    Liza Deischer: :-)
Bertram Jacobus: eos - the circle on your shirt looks similar to the ole nydal diamond way circle - is it that circle or accidently ? :-)
Eos Amaterasu: no relation that I know of
Zen Arado: it is an enso
Eos Amaterasu: from Kanonji here in SL
Zen Arado: symbolizes emptiness in zen
Bertram Jacobus: ah okay. did you create it by yourself ? - and an enso ? what´s that, please ? :-)
    Bertram Jacobus: ah. ty :-)
Zen Arado: you have to make the circle in one brushstroke
    Bertram Jacobus: i see
    Eos Amaterasu: one lifetime
    Zen Arado: knowledge exhausted :)
    Bertram Jacobus: hehe.
Bertram Jacobus: interesting then, that ole, a vajrayana teacher uses this symbol ...
    Calvino Rabeni: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ens%C5%8D
Eos Amaterasu: Ah, the example calligraphy there is by a Kyudo (contemplative archery) master
    Bertram Jacobus: hello kenji
    Liza Deischer: hi Kenji
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Kenji
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Kenji :)
    Stim Morane: hi Kenji
Zen Arado: there ia a form of zen art called sumi e uses this technique
    Agatha Macbeth: Greetings Ken
Zen Arado: ust ink and brush and done very swiftly
    Zen Arado: Hi Ken
Bertram Jacobus: (where is barbie)? :o) (but ken already away again) ... ;-)
    Agatha Macbeth: With Sindy :)
Bertram Jacobus: sindy ? who is THAT ? :-)
Agatha Macbeth: She's a real doll!
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Got more clothes than me
Agatha Macbeth: And that's saying something
Bertram Jacobus: does she has a last name, too ? - or : where can one find her ? lol
    Agatha Macbeth: Doll?
    Bertram Jacobus: whaow ? :-)
    Agatha Macbeth: No, Doll ;)
Bertram Jacobus: a doll like barbie ? but i´m silly - sry
Agatha Macbeth: We forgive you Bert
    --BELL--
    Agatha Macbeth: Hiya QT
    Agatha Macbeth: Buona sera
    Qt Core: hi all
    Liza Deischer: hi QT
    Stim Morane: hi QT
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Qt
    Bertram Jacobus: hey qt :-)
    Zen Arado: Hi QT
Aubergine Mint: I have a silly question .... are we supposed to be meditating now? Not sure what is happening at this playasbeing session
    Agatha Macbeth: I *never* am!
Liza Deischer: sometimes it is just like this
Eliza Madrigal giggles... Ah, No Agatha... seems we just keep falling quiet
Agatha Macbeth: Or falling asleep? :)
Aubergine Mint: what does it mean "just like this"
Eliza Madrigal: I was thinking today might be a session where we talk ONLY in the pauses... hehe
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
    Liza Deischer: :-)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Liza Deischer: I mean, somebody nees to start up the conversation
Liza Deischer: and sometimes it isnt just there
    Zon Quar: well..how about time
Eliza Madrigal: For me it has been a good challenge today ... not to fill the space
Zon Quar: does anyone know what time is
    Agatha Macbeth: Time for what?
    Zen Arado: me too
Liza Deischer: yew, you can take it in any way you want
Liza Deischer: for some it is a challenge
Liza Deischer: for some it is meditation
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Wol :)
    Liza Deischer: can be anything
Wol Euler: hello everyone, it's nice to be here :)
    Stim Morane: :)
    Aubergine Mint: hi Wol
    Liza Deischer: hi Wol
    Zen Arado: Hi Wol
Agatha Macbeth: It would be a lot noisier if Pema ere here :)
    Agatha Macbeth: were
    Wol Euler: :)
    Liza Deischer: :-)
Zen Arado: thought you were here:)
    Qt Core: hi wol
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Ara :)
    Eos Amaterasu: (brb)
    Zen Arado: Hi Ara
    Liza Deischer: hi Ara
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Ara
    Stim Morane: hi Ara
Wol Euler: only for certain values of "here", Zen
    Zon Quar: ara
    arabella Ella: Hiya
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Ara:)
Agatha Macbeth: Aha, now Wol's awake it will get noisier
    Wol Euler: :-PPPPP
    Eliza Madrigal grins
arabella Ella: wow full house :)
Aubergine Mint: this is one of those playasbeing sessions that is very confusing for a newbie
Liza Deischer: she only showed her tongue until now :-)
    arabella Ella smiles
Zen Arado: what did that woman in 'The Importance of Being Earnest' say about keeping men away from subjects
Zen Arado: maybe applies to women too :)
    Agatha Macbeth: A handbag?
Bertram Jacobus: why confusing aubergine, please ?
    Zen Arado: :)
Aubergine Mint: not sure what to be doing
    Aubergine Mint: or thnking
Wol Euler: I can see that, Aubergine, I felt that way too.
Eliza Madrigal: Sure, wondering why so many and so quiet... then taking pauses from the quiet :)
Bertram Jacobus: ah. simply what comes perhaps aubergine ? feel, look, see ? ...
Wol Euler: it's probably true that at least some are meditating
Aubergine Mint: not so easy for a newbie, Bertram
Calvino Rabeni: I'd guess there were some stuggles with the silence
Agatha Macbeth: Go with the flow.......
Wol Euler: but without any external clues, there's no way to know. Perhaps the others are reading e-mail?
Aubergine Mint: except nothing was flowing :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Or IM-ing?
    Bertram Jacobus: ok aubergine ... i see ... but i find it nice - if i may say so (?) ... :-)
Eliza Madrigal: Honestly, I was watching myself come up with things and then asking "is that really something to share?" then deciding no...
Qt Core: after dealing/speaking with family and enlarged fgamily on xmas someone may like some silence ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: though I admit skimming a pab log also ;-)
    Wol Euler nods to QT.
Zen Arado: I feel guilty I talk too much :)
Zen Arado: try to steer group to things I am interested in
Bertram Jacobus: don´t feel guilty zen ! ;-)
    Zon Quar: no guilt please
    Wol Euler nods to zen.
Aubergine Mint: why come to your computer if silence is the goal?
Agatha Macbeth: Steer away Zen :)
Eliza Madrigal: shared space perhaps Aubergine
    Liza Deischer: why do meditation
Wol Euler: yes, there's a difference betwen being alone and being silent in a gruop
Bertram Jacobus: it´s not my goal aubergine. i only like much what comes. sometimes silence, somtiomes interesting talks. nice people ...
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Liza Deischer: sorry, I need to go
Wol Euler: bye liza, take care
Bertram Jacobus: bye liza. have a good time
Liza Deischer: see you all next time
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Liza, nice to see you :)
    Zen Arado: bye Liza
    arabella Ella: nite Liza
    Stim Morane: by liza
    Aubergine Mint: bye Liza
    Scathach Rhiadra: bye Liza
    Agatha Macbeth: To't ziens Liza
    --BELL--
Zen Arado: can I talk about 'The headless way'?
    Agatha Macbeth: Feel free
Bertram Jacobus: and sometimes i don´t like some talks aubergine i can admit - but always - i can observe myself ...
Zen Arado: I was re reading a book calle 'On having no head'
Zen Arado: some of you know it
    Stim Morane: yes
Wol Euler: Sorry, my dears, but I must go. The listener *seems* to be working properly, I'll check the log after the session.
Zen Arado: where the author suddenly realizes he has no head
    Stim Morane: thanks wol
    arabella Ella: nite Wol
Wol Euler: bye for now, take care
    Bertram Jacobus: by ewol
Agatha Macbeth: Schlaf gut Wol :)
    Scathach Rhiadra: good night Wol:)
Zen Arado: just a vast space where it should be
    Zen Arado: nite Wol
Wol Euler: stim, if it is incomplete I was here from the beginning, and I hope someone who remains has enabled local chatlogging (looks around sternly)
    Eliza Madrigal is enabled
    Agatha Macbeth: Erk!
    Stim Morane: :)
Wol Euler: ty :) bye for now
    Zon Quar: what happens then..
    Aubergine Mint: bye wol
    Eliza Madrigal listens
    Zon Quar: zen ?
arabella Ella listens to Zen ... thinking of headless chickens ...
    Stim Morane: :)
Zen Arado: well you have to object that of course you have a head!
Zen Arado: but you can't see it
Agatha Macbeth: I have, I just don't use it
    Zon Quar: hm
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Zen Arado: only a little pink cloud of your nose
arabella Ella: the eye sees but does not directly see itself
Zon Quar: and after that ?
Zen Arado: all you see is a glassy reality
    Zon Quar: glassy ?
arabella Ella: how can you see if you dont have a head?
Zen Arado: well a joined up vision
Zen Arado: but the head is only a thought
Zen Arado: you can't see it
Zen Arado: it is the center of a vast conscousness
Zon Quar: so the head is there
Eliza Madrigal: So it is about shifting center of attention?
Zen Arado: you don't see with the eyse either
Eos Amaterasu is not all here... bye
arabella Ella imagines an alternative universe with beings with no heads
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Bye Eos
Zen Arado: they are only a link of a chain of perception
    Zon Quar: i see
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Eos
    Zen Arado: bye Eos
Zon Quar: i dont know with what..but i see
    Zen Arado: yes
Aubergine Mint: speaking of seeing, has anyone seen AVATAR?
arabella Ella: altho we do have mirrors ... and we have the sense of touch too
arabella Ella would love to watch Avatar ...
Aubergine Mint: one of the movies themes is "i see you"
Eliza Madrigal is very excited to see Avatar but not yet :)
Zen Arado: so you drop the notion of having a head and go back to before we decide this at about 18 months old
Aubergine Mint: which reminded me of BS, being seeing, that is
Zen Arado: but that is only a distorted reflection not your head Ara
arabella Ella: i can touch my head and feel its shape and form though cant I
Zen Arado: no-your hand disappears when you do that
Zon Quar: so head is not "me"
arabella Ella: the same applies to the back part of my body which i can never directly see
Zen Arado: it is only a thought construct
    Zen Arado: yes
Aubergine Mint: there are many themes in AVATAR that could be discussed at playasbeing
Eliza Madrigal: Aubergine, see as in another way rather than traditional means, due to distinct worlds/distance?
Zon Quar: what about my hands then
Zon Quar: do i have my hands
arabella Ella: yes please say more Aubergine
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe we could discuss it at mise-en-scene?
Eliza Madrigal: yes I think we will be
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
    Zen Arado: http://www.headless.org/entry_page.html
Eliza Madrigal: What did you feel about the idea/book Zen... personally?
Aubergine Mint: see with open eyes with things dropped like we drop at playasbeing
Zen Arado: first time I didn't get it
Zen Arado: beginning to now I think
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Consultant. I'll give you a notecard about PlayasBeing :)
Zen Arado: Pema recomends book at end of one of his papers
    Zen Arado: Hi Consultant
    Consultant Hyun: hello
    --BELL--
Agatha Macbeth: slips quietly away. Bye All :)
    arabella Ella: bye Agatha
    Zon Quar: bye agatha
    Zen Arado: bye
    Stim Morane: bye agatha
Calvino Rabeni: It is always disconcerting when you forgot your cam was focused on the person who leaves
    Scathach Rhiadra: god night all:)
    Scathach Rhiadra: good*
    arabella Ella: nite Scath
Zen Arado: the idea is in a lot of zen koans
Eliza Madrigal: Night, Scath :) Good to see you
    Zen Arado: bye Scath
    Stim Morane: good night, Scathach
Zen Arado: your original face before you were born etc.
    Zon Quar: nite S
    Eliza Madrigal: Ah
    Zon Quar: original head
Zen Arado: there is a Facebook group - No-Facebook :)
    Zon Quar: lol
    Eliza Madrigal grins
    arabella Ella: :)
    Qt Core: bye all
    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Qt :)
    Zon Quar: bye Q
    arabella Ella: notte Qt
    Stim Morane: bye Qt
Zen Arado: I'm finished - you have to look at it yourself if you are interested
    Zen Arado: bye Qt
Stim Morane: I must go as well. Bye everyone.
    arabella Ella: bye Stim
    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Stim :)
    Zen Arado: bye Stim
    Zon Quar: bye stim
    Aubergine Mint: bye stim
arabella Ella: the web link you gave us is quite intruiging Zen
Eliza Madrigal: yes the author seems to have youtube videos also
Zen Arado: it is phenomenology too Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: Zen, yes that's why I asked about the center of attention...
Eliza Madrigal: that it seems our tendency is to be projecting out all the time...
Eliza Madrigal: so I'll definitely look at this more :)
Zon Quar: the pint is to not to identify ourselves with the body ?
    Zon Quar: point
Zen Arado: I don't think I have completely grasped it yet
Eliza Madrigal: The best sorts of books/ideas dawn bit by bit, don't they?
Zon Quar: but we r points of consciousness
Zen Arado: just think what is on top of your shoulders?
    Aubergine Mint: bye everyone
Zen Arado: what do you experience?
    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Aubergine :))
    Zon Quar: bye A
    arabella Ella: bye Aubergine
    Zen Arado: bye Aubergine
    Zen Arado: yes Zon
Eliza Madrigal: Well its been obvious to me for a while, pre thinking about phenom or those things, that 'mind' couldn't be just in my skull...
    Zon Quar: nods
Eliza Madrigal: but this seems a more expansive shift
Zen Arado: yet it is so simple
Zon Quar: tries to picture no head..
Eliza Madrigal: If so simple then why illusive... Why do we get it and forget it ? :)
Zen Arado: we just have to unlearn our notion of a head
    Zen Arado: conditioning?
Eliza Madrigal: Oh just that :) Just forget the thing people relate to us through?
Zon Quar: i need my head !
    Eliza Madrigal: hahaha
Zen Arado: you sure you have one?
    Zen Arado: :)
Eliza Madrigal: people constantly talk to our heads... and wait for our heads to answer...
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
    Bertram Jacobus: ;-)
Zon Quar: if i donr have one ..i must get one
    Zen Arado: why?
Zen Arado: just work with what is there
    Zon Quar: to communicate
    Zon Quar: to speak
    arabella Ella: 'talking heads'
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eliza Madrigal: So if no head, then?
    Zon Quar: this material universe
Zen Arado: just communicate with what you have
Eliza Madrigal: How do we communicate?
Zon Quar: i need my senses
    Zon Quar: to sense
Zon Quar: what is on material level
Zen Arado: but they all coalesce in empty space somewhere in your brain
Zon Quar: if i want to work here
Eliza Madrigal nods... so not material communication then?
    Zen Arado: vast nothingness
Zon Quar: my head is here for a reason
    Zen Arado: is it?
    Zon Quar: yes
Zon Quar: otherwise it wouldnt exist
    Zen Arado: what reason?
Zon Quar: to play the game on this material level
arabella Ella: to house part of my central nervous system perhaps?
    arabella Ella: (only part)
Zen Arado: no self or head
Eliza Madrigal: Once in meditation, I heard "You take nothing for granted" and it was the most confusing thing... "What?" I take many things for granted... know I do... Only yesterday I thought, "OH, Maybe I take "NOTHING" for granted. :)
Zen Arado: that is a scientific view
Zen Arado: if you go up close to someone's head it disappears
Eliza Madrigal: so simple... obvious little shift and turn. I think much of our awareness is like that.
Zen Arado: go to sub atomic level there is just space
Zon Quar: how can i bump the football to goal if i dont have a head ?
    Zon Quar: i need it
    Zen Arado: bump the ball
Zen Arado: don't worry about the head
    Zon Quar: but isaid..
Zon Quar: u said i va no head
Zen Arado: you can't see the head anyway
Zen Arado: I can see a head
    --BELL--
Zen Arado: but it is yours not mine
    Zon Quar: ahh..relief..
    Zon Quar: ty
    Eliza Madrigal: hahah
Zen Arado: But I don't have one
Zon Quar: but i se u have
Bertram Jacobus: can´t understand these thoughts ... (of "no head" and similar) ...
Zon Quar: dont u trust me
Zon Quar: u have a head
Zen Arado: ok I am trying it out on you
    Zon Quar: lol
Zen Arado: it is a strange idea
Eliza Madrigal: Bert, I thought I had it there but they lost me with the football
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
    Zon Quar: lol
Zen Arado: but I think there is something profound there
Zon Quar: i must read the web page..
Eliza Madrigal: This is reminding me of a conversation about a house months ago...
Zen Arado: ask Pema to explain some time
    Zen Arado: yes Eliza?
Eliza Madrigal: Well, I'm looking for it. It was just a little story Pema threw out there one day and we were all playing with it until it resembled nothing having to do with the story...
    Eliza Madrigal: hahah
Eliza Madrigal: but it was fun
Eliza Madrigal: and in the end I think we all learned/saw various things
    arabella Ella: Hiya Nick
Bertram Jacobus: hi ramona and nick
    arabella Ella: Hiya ramona
    Nick Cassavetes: good evening :)
    Zon Quar: hi Nick
Zen Arado: soeetimes it is so difficult to drop our conventional way of seeing things
    Ramona Oberts: hmm ce faceti?
Zon Quar: i think the point might be..dont be so much in ur head..
    Ramona Oberts: ce faceti/
Zen Arado: it is more revolutionary than that I think Zon
Zen Arado: though that is true too...
    Ramona Oberts: am plecat..
Zon Quar: yes..going deeper it is
    Ramona Oberts: sry
Zen Arado: they give exerecises on the website
Zen Arado: perhaps we can try in a meeting sometime
    Zon Quar: yes, good idea
    Zen Arado: http://www.headless.org/entry_page.html
Zen Arado: in case you lost it or want it
Zen Arado: anyway I better go
    Bertram Jacobus: *klick*
    Eliza Madrigal: http://playasbeing.wik.is/index.php?...t=fefonz+house
Zen Arado: I have confused you enough :)
Eliza Madrigal: There is the house log... to add to confusion I'm sure
    Zen Arado: thanks Eliza
    Eliza Madrigal: :))))
    Zon Quar: no..that was fun
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, it was fun
    Zon Quar: nite all
arabella Ella: we dont mind some confusion here Zen
    Zon Quar: we love it
    Zen Arado: nite all
Eliza Madrigal: We appreciate the confusion you've brought us today
Bertram Jacobus: nite zon and zen (?) :-)
Eliza Madrigal: Nite Zen and Zon :)
arabella Ella needs to untangle the tangles in my brain
    Eliza Madrigal: haha
Eliza Madrigal: Yes me too I think
Eliza Madrigal: Does someone have a nice simple story?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    arabella Ella: dendriters, neurons, whatever
Calvino Rabeni: Tangles are nature's way of getting more stuff into the same space
    arabella Ella: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Nick Cassavetes: I have a nice simple storie :)
    Nick Cassavetes: y
Eliza Madrigal listens , and Hello
    arabella Ella listens
    Nick Cassavetes: hi :)
Nick Cassavetes: ok, one day, an angel comes to earth
Nick Cassavetes: with the message from God: mankind is allowed a question, and will get an answer to it
Nick Cassavetes: in a few weeks tha angel will return, and answer
Nick Cassavetes: all mankind gather, all the scientists, linguists, philosophers of course ...
Nick Cassavetes: afters heavy debating and think they come to the conclusion of risking it with what some may call a double question (this is not really important for the story, been a while since I told it last)
    Eliza Madrigal leans in
Nick Cassavetes: so the angel comes, and they ask: "What is the best question we can ask, and the answer to that?"
    --BELL--
Nick Cassavetes: The Angel instantly replies: "The best question you just asked, and the answer is this" ... and he exits the scene elegantly :)
    arabella Ella: :)
    Eliza Madrigal claps
    Nick Cassavetes: thx :)
Calvino Rabeni: What a relief - I'm glad you answered the question by having the angel not answer it.
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Nick Cassavetes: but he/she did answer ;)
Nick Cassavetes: what do each of you think whent 'wrong' here? if anything
Bertram Jacobus: sry nick - the rules here are that we ask new people whether it´s okay, that we record the talks here and put it into a wiki - is that okay for you ? otherwise we had to take it out of the log ...
Calvino Rabeni: the expected description was missing
Nick Cassavetes: it's ok Bertram, ah sorry, I suck at mutli-tasking, you aksed in PM
    Bertram Jacobus: lol. ty :-)
Nick Cassavetes: I rock at typonese ;)
    Nick Cassavetes: and
arabella Ella: nothing went wrong at all but the expectations were not met and i guess those who asked the question may have been disappointed
Bertram Jacobus: and i hate a bit those official tasks - but seems fair ... ;-)
Eliza Madrigal nods to Ara... yes expectation
arabella Ella: and we often have expectations in life that may be difficult or impossible to live up to
Eliza Madrigal: and wanting to be 'right' or 'best' maybe... not make an error perhaps
Nick Cassavetes: yes, I think also it reveals the intrinsic intentional character of language
Calvino Rabeni: And get to the end of questioning, have it be "over"
