Meditated with the curtains still closed, but found that it irritated me to the point where I considered breaking off the meditation to open the curtains. I didn't.
I very much liked O's idea of "Before sleep decided to pray, with the intention of continuing in my sleep", yesterday, and made a note of trying that soon. And I was intrigued with the parallels with Aphrodite's entry "Incubating today's awakenings with a blanket of sleep." -- bridges and blankets as tools for transformation and opening between realms of awareness!
Sitting outdoors at a busy cafe in the city centre, waiting for lunch, I felt my retreat self approach and sit down opposite me. Retreat-Wol reminded me of sitting on the verandah of Sunshine House on the silent day. We tried to do a waiting-for-lunch meditation as an experiment (clear the mind, watch the breathing, let the sights and sounds just wash past us). It worked surprisingly well.
I spent most of this day exploring The Field Museum of Natural History (Chicago). Here's the fellow with whom I "participated" during my wheelchair sit this afternoon:
