    Meditation before breakfast. Standing meditation.

Tried not to skimp on meditation time again. Set the gong for 11 minutes and only stopped when the gong had fully sounded out. Still plenty of things that can be used to give you the illusion you're meditating when you're not: thinking, dreaming. I decided that meditation is a gift to myself (and to other sentient beings, yes) and I might as well make the most of it.

    Office morning Tai Chi,

Although I was thinking of meditation before I left home for coffee and work, the thought was fleeting until I arrived at work, turned on the heat and began warm up exercises which I always do before meditation, just never seem to mention it here. So let me begin by saying , after all I have been reading here... Morning meditation is so much more effective than late evening meditation, in terms of mind clarity and balance during Tai Chi that follows (even after a quiet visit to the coffee shop, which I do almost every morning). Should have followed your lead(s) much sooner.

    Lojong Geistestraining Tag 1

Wester: "meditation is a gift to myself (and to other sentient beings, yes)".

    I sit under that umbrella.

It is my straight back, and my soft front.

Bertram has started a year-long study of Lojong (mind training based on 59 aphorisms written by Geshe Chekhawa), and I encouraged him to write about it here. Some of them will be familiar to long-term readers of Play as Being, for example "Find the consciousness you had before you were born."

Bit of a headache and so sitting a bit too casual, eyes closed and lingering on the edge of sleep... think I dozed off a few times even writing this note. :) A few rounds of 55 breaths though. A full day.
