Eden's haiku yesterday, about rain falling and washing up darkness and shadows, felt like an invitation to go beyond duality. Rain communing between heaven and earth, shadows communing between light and dark. I've been working with going beyond duality quite intensively the last few days: trying to go beyond hope and fear, without forcing, trying to go beyond easy and difficult, trying to go beyond judgments. Such a rich terrain to explore.

watcher watches watcher watching watchers watching watchers.. fore sleep: oh la la! on waking: ooh la la! Here now, "the best of all possible worlds" reclining, ah ah ah
This morning I returned to "The Bean" in Millennium Park. No benches or recliners anywhere near it - and it's easy to see why: the sculpture virtually seduces viewers to move nearer to it, around it, and through it. Now THAT's participation! If you have 2 minutes for a YouTube vid of the incredibly seductive Bean, watch this:

My mind seemed slow, viscous. Much resistance to letting go of thought and to relaxing the body. Some days are like that.
