Yesterday Eden wrote about traveling in time. And we all do: each moment is a brand new entry in a new part of time, never before visited by any of us. I thought about that today, while walking through Manhattan. I remembered paintings of Paris terrace scenes of around 1900, and how interesting it would be to be able to go back and walk around in that world. I then thought about how people living a hundred years from now will look at photographs and paintings of New York of the very early 21th century, wishing they could just take a peek there -- as I'm doing now. :-)
Meditated in the evening, while husband and children were taking a bath.
The prostrations can be a way of reminding body (and mind, but mainly body) of gratefulness to the situation, and willingness to surrender. The standing mediation then is practicing how to actually surrender.
Tried to do the recliner sit -- and the "path" threw itself in my face while I was day-dreaming in some other direction: interruption, mechanical noises, political phone calls, frustration, silliness, more interruptions . . . Finally it dawned on me: this IS "the path"!

No practice today.
A very important day, The person (Dharma Voyager in SL) who introduced me to Pema 3 + years ago was visiting from Portland OR with her husband for today and tomorrow before we send them to NYC for the remainder of their vacation.
The strangest thing happened yesterday and I didn't even remember to put it here, I had been taught the next move of my Tai Chi form last Wednesday, As was typical I did not remember it in this last week of practicing... until ... on Tuesday (day 54), it literally came back to me and began incorporating it in to my Tai Chi practice. edited 11:36, 27 Oct 2011
