Recliner sit: Looking around the room and through the window into the forest, I am struck by how much seems "self evident." For example, I instantly know "inside" from "outside" and their relative sizes. Should I now hire contractors to expand this room large enough to enclose the entire forest?

There was a time when I didn't know "inside" from "outside," but now it seems self-evident.
"Self-evident" probably means that I've forgotten having to learn it. edited 01:26, 19 Oct 2011

I loved reading Eos' short instruction set, yesterday, and I was curious to see how I could play with it. First I took it literally, while on a walk, showing up in the park, and checking in with the environment, greeting the world around me. Going on on my walk, I returned to doing that a few times. But then I took it differently, with the "showing up" focusing on my objective presence, me as an object among objects, and the "checking in" focusing on my subjective presence, me as the subject watching all the objects around me, including my own objective presence. "Go on" for me then meant becoming at ease with the subject/object dual presence, and the "return" became a return to a non-duality of subject and object. In a natural way, the four lines became a round trip into and out of duality.

Inspired by Wol's " feeling the world outside" and Pema's comment about how we don't notice when we drift off, but do notice when we come back... appropriately enough on my walk:

used the framing of "being inside" when wrapped up in some pre#occupation
and then outside when noticing, waking up - being outside
    being inside when being caught
and then being in the greater outside

    suddenly you seeing
    being seeing

And Pema, ha ha, what an amazing commentary! :-)

Grackles astounding, under grey blankets so thick it seemed amazing to *hear them* chattering away. So much to share, leaping line to line, this grouping that grouping... a spooky and chaotic scene. Inner grackles were chattering a little too, while sitting last night... and at the wall too, a moment ago. Forehead to the floor, hands in prayer pose. Surrender the day.

    The conductor smiles...
reaches across in so many different ways
    each moment a new one

We listen with our whole bodies
attuned to a stretch in time
and the generosity of feeling together

lovely Tai Chi practice this morning at work in silence, yet the sound of background once again heightened my awareness and focus on my meditation, took, my time, remembered my teachers words, which sounded strangle parallel with the thinking of Play as Being. She said if you don't remember the move, play as if you know them... there are not wrong moves then.

Class ... later was also nice, the often forgotten next moved was learned and I may possibly remember it this time :)

    Today was Tai Chi day.
Moving my weight from one leg to the other
Flexing and straightening shoulder, knee, hip joints
    Reaching upwards, stretching outwards.
Becoming very familiar with the patterns of energy
    that course through my body,
Filling these shapes. edited 05:48, 19 Oct 2011
