    Meditation between shower and breakfast, after bringing the kids to school.

    I tried if I could replace the standing meditation by T'ai Chi exercises, but it is too different. T'ai Chi will have to find a different place in my schedule. The ending of the form (and the pre-beginning) is a good relaxation exercise though, and I can use it just before starting the standing meditation, if I feel I need some extra grounding.

    Short sitting last night, like a shower washing off the cares of the day.

    Reading yesterday's comments by Wester and Eliza, I enjoyed the ongoing conversation between them about allowing. Responding rather than reacting. Responding to the situation while allowing everything to be as is, rather than reacting in a narrow way, based on habit. Yes, that seems like a core aspect of meditation. I'm reminding myself of this allowing attitude, taking it with me into my day today.

    /me relishing Eos' and Eden's poetic elogies. Read a quote about Steve Jobs, by a co-worker: "You need a lot more than vision -- you need a stubbornness, tenacity, belief and patience to stay the course."

    My satellite internet connection was 'down' this entire day - producing episodes of cybernetic chaos and mild panic, since so much has become dependent upon such "connection."

    When my participations have been dulled by orderly dependency -- especially my dependency on the "Web" -- I remember that virtually all of the prisons in my life are ones I choose, furnish, justify, and lug around by myself.

    Visual meditation.
    Painting little squares of colour, carefully, precisely, mixing exactly. Yellow dissolves into green dissolves into blue. My world becomes light forming into separate particles, an eternity of hues, laid down by a fine smooth brush. edited 19:00, 7 Oct 2011

    slightly edging up awareness of myself doing what I'm doing
    that awareness lets go of that

    meanwhile a storm of attentions
    each a touch
    from such big go

    light touch
    breathe out
    let go
