Alfred had a nice idea this morning, to share 5 things thankful for, but there is just *so much*...
In no particular order and obviously an outline:
- the health and safety of everyone involed in an accident recently,
- the richness of life with deep and interesting children, even when not 'easy',
- Tears & laughter (and what they reveal),
- Aware Companions,
- This spot to stop and say "thank you"
((and :::ahem::: :::looks for others from this morning's session and their 5 things:::: ;-) edited 01:09, 11 Oct 2011
Welcome back, Wol ! In celebration I second Bruce's response, which happens to jive well with Wester's experience yesterday too: checking in and allowing my body to find its own way. edited 17:49, 10 Oct 2011
Filled with uncertainty about how to proceed
I do nothing
except reach down for stability.
Breathing in from the earth and out to the earth,
connecting with a firm base while my head drifts with the river. edited 05:19, 11 Oct 2011
Thankful for this life, this moment, this body/mind/heart, and...
- the capacity and geography to watch the the Sun and Moon both rise and set
- (((Parents all))) who just know things that cannot otherwise be known
- those who know what and why they are practicing (turtles all the way...)
- pets that live with grace in less than optimal circumstances
- the health and safety of everyone in an accident recently edited 10:59, 11 Oct 2011
thankful for the opportunity to meet others
for creativity apparent in so many places of the day
for my children
for experiences
for each new unfolding moment
"recliner sit" for today came during our two-hour Original Face session. Aph's "Breathing in from the earth and out to the earth . . ." was our core exploration. I came into that session feeling bugged by the relentless neediness of "normal" adults who simply refuse to take responsibility for themselves -- even on the most basic physical levels. I finished that session a happier, saner "me" than the "me" who had arrived two hours earlier.
Noticing my breath. Allowing my body to go with its flow. Noticing what happens in my body and mind. Letting that be, keeping on noticing.
Recurring pattern: when I remember to soften my feet, the ten minutes will almost be up.
::: Eyes closed listening inside
::: With a thankful heart
