Feel joyful in this moment.. sending to anyone who reads this, and everyone who doesn't too.. and mosquitoes too :P Went for a walk holding "Verandah at Sunshine House" as the theme/meme in my body. :) edited 12:15, 1 Oct 2011
'holding as the theme/meme in my body'... such peculiar phrasing ... mudras and forms... postures and patterns...writings on water. I did not formally sit last night. I 'failed'. Ken McCleod must have known this would happen, because he tweeted this link on 'following through': http://www.unfetteredmind.org/jewel-ornament-bodhisattva-vow-violations#TAN250:48:07.7
In another way ... this too, is sitting, receptive and noticing, alive. Appreciative. _/!\_
I have been away (from this) for a few days as I have been very busy with the holidays, family and other joyful obligations which, in small doses are good things, family in particular works best in 3 day maximum doses. So today I made up for the time and I meditated under the uniformly gray skies with my cat. I stood breathing for an extended period with the cat weaving between my legs with a sense that we have been missing this for a few days. Each time I have been doing my Tai Chi form, there has been less focus on the moves and more focus on the moment. Less focus on the act of the form.. more of being in a places between the acts witch are infinity small, usually preceded by a breath.
Didn't find time to meditate until the evening. I got a bit grumpy in the afternoon, it might have something to do with it...
10 minutes of prostrations. And it definitely is something about meditation that attracts the cats - they hadn't bothered with me since getting their dinner, and the moment I kneel down, they start rubbing against me.
My last day in Chicago. Just had to return to the Art Institute for a few hours. I found this chess set: an astounding example of "participation" -- everything reflecting everything else. Even the ceiling . . . and the photographer. http://hermitdog.com/Chess.jpg
