A busy day today, so I set my alarm early and meditated before waking up the kids.
It felt like it was too early to do the standing meditation, and when I tried I found that was true. Standing up made me dizzy. So it was prostrations today. And I have been known to do those with more concentration as well. Still, a nice start of the day.
Part simple sitting and part guided meditation, late morning. The guided meditation (shared by Sam, thank you) was a 'body scan' type of practice and at some point when 'bringing awareness' to one area, noticed a kind of linking with another, which gave the impression of posture having a sort of twist. There has been an area of concern included in this constellation, for a few years, and it seems a gift to see a mapping. Very relaxing, couldn't help but take a very quick nap after. Thankful.
Congratulations too, to Eos. Happy to hear of shoulder lightness arriving. :) edited 21:26, 25 Nov 2011
so much i could write about my so to say „new project“ - this lojong commitment. and as well about the writing here : i talked to wol and told him, that i don´t feel able to write every day. he / you reacted very friendly and said that would be ok and he / you would like to read about it as much as possible. okay ! i try to do my very best. one structural problem is that i do my practise every morning before the site for the day is open. so it´s heavy to remind how my experiences were when i wrote it later. but satia gave me the idea to write it with my computers and post it later. okay ! and i forget a lot, but … didn´t miss one single day so far regarding to the practice. an ongoing challenge ! first week now finished. there is also included a practice (part) which is called „the 35 buddhas“. that includes proustrations - i do 20 so far daily- 11.111 shall it be at the end. that would need one and a half year with this daily amount … more details later – ty pab ! :-)
Had to smile about the picture of the turkey, and write underneath Wester's comment about flapping her wings. :-)
Find myself in a bit of a quandary, here in Japan: if I write in the morning, it is late night in Europe and still daytime the previous day in North America; but in the evening I often feel less inspired to write, when coming home from dinner or other activity. So I find myself writing from the future so to speak (Nov. 26 here now :-).
My half hour morning sit was peaceful, in front of a paper screen, and I felt deeply content. Right from the start a quiet sense of concentration, even with random thoughts coming and going. Watching those movements. Just this sitting. Just these distractions.
