Back to combining the breaths practice last night, and feeling appreciative for this exercise of support. It shows up a lot of tendencies which may not be exactly hidden but not at the forefront either. :)

Yes, as Wester wrote yesterday, how nice to see her and Bruce and me sharing an exploration of surrendering. And I also resonated very much with what Aphrodite wrote, about trying (but failing) to keep the feeling of a meditation throughout the day. Like Wol in her exchange with Eliza, failing is no problem as long as we continue to try. Success or failure is not very important; it's the follow-up that is important, the gesture that follows. And back to Wester: how nice to share this every-day-practice experiences here in our little group!

Another day where the first opportunity to meditate came in the evening. I had an attempt in the morning, but it was interrupted. When I did get to meditate, I found (not for the first time either) that I had forgotten to move from the preliminary relaxing to the actual meditation technique. No problem, just start as soon as I notice. When the 10-minute buzzer went off, I felt I wasn't quite done yet, so I meditated for 5 minutes more.

Sat for twelve minutes with Bertram's session at the Mountain Meditation. The presence of the others was comforting and encouraging.

Our "silent worship" at Quaker Meeting today was the longest we've had in months - almost a full hour. Everyone at the Meeting felt led to speak "out of the silence" except me. I try to remember to ask myself whether what I might have to say would be more valuable than the silence itself, and today it was not.

After returning home from Meeting, I bought an SL recliner, installed it in the Kira Dome, and sat in it for a long while. edited 01:48, 19 Sep 2011

On practice walk today, mind full of projects. I'm always so full of intentions, sometimes pressing forward, sometimes shrinking back. How about just resting in intention when I notice it? There's lots of occasions for noticing intentions, there's so many of them - there's one! Open to it, and open in it, resting in its arrow-ness, without churning so much about end points. That arrow has resting energy, rich, charged, glowing.

Will I remember that tomorrow? :-)

Thinking about the peace quote: "The colours of life dance on top of peace. If we were to be able to be still for one moment...we would be left with peace and love - which is what we are." Alanis Morrissette .
Dropping to be peace. yes. edited 05:47, 19 Sep 2011
